If she still had it now, it might be worth a couple of new "L's" and some change.

Serotta, If you have any web links or companies/enthusiast clubs where I can find some info about the Austin Healy's I'd like to look into it if I can. Like I said it would be pretty cool if I could find something to pick up for her as a project of her own.
Chris91LX,
Try these for starters:
Austin Healey Club USA: http://www.healey.org/index.shtml
Austin Healey Club of America: http://www.serve.com/AHCA/
Austin Healey Sports and Touring Club: http://www.austin-healey-stc.org/
Austin Healey 100 Restoration Site: http://www.acmefluid.com.au/larry/
I belonged to the Austin Healey Club of America for a few years, even served as a Chapter President. Got tired of the attitude. Most of the members are in the business of restoring cars, not driving the heck out of them. I was more interested in driving them. The last site is pretty neat, lots of links, etc.
Ebay always has a few for sale.
Now there's a kit, called the Sebring. It uses many parts that are reproductions, but it looks like a Healey, and has late model V-8 running gear. Can probably be found at Kitcar.com

Yuppers,
1976 Pontiac Trans Am, a project forever :-D
I'm currently working on the exterior, it has some rust that I need to get rid of, but overall it's in really good condition for the year. It's never been garaged, it's sat in the Arizona, Texas and NC sun for it's whole life (and some in Ohio too.)
The interior is in pretty good condition, the seats need to be recovered, the dash needs a couple patches and a repaint accross the top, but overall it's a real good car. The engine is the original Pontiac 400 CI, running well, was rebuilt last year adn a Holley High Performance Carburetor and True Dual pipes were added. This was given to me by my Dad this past summer, it's been his companion and buddy for the past 23 years, and it's 26 years old now.

I'm sure you guys are sick of seeing me post my baby up here... but I just love this car SOOOO much. 73 Stang. Wasn't much of a project car, we bought it in pretty good shape, dropped a new motor in it, put new wheels on... still alot to do to it tho...

Do you have any pics that show the front of the car as well? I'd love to see them if so.
