Cheats and Liars

Did anybody catch the news clip of Slamming Sammy Sosa's bat breaking?

It was corked::::::Kind of funny, while he was out there throwing kisses and patting his heart, he was corking

O, wait a minute, that was probably the first time he used a corker

Yea,
What a shame. I can’t wait to hear the story on this one. I can hear it now “ Mr. Sosa was unaware that the bat had been corked. The bat was purchased by an independent agent for Mr. Sosa and had apparently been corked and concealed so perfectly that it was undetectable.” Yea, Right.

Of course he is going to protest it. You don't think that he is going to let himself get suspended without a fight do you? I don't think so. From what I can remember, I think this is not the first time he has used a corked bat, but I could be wrong.

I think that if a player is caught with a corked bat or some other rules violation, they should be suspended for 10 day regardless of what they say, because rules are rules. If MLB doesn't suspend him, then someone else will start using a corked bat or some other rule violation and expect to get away with it, because they let Sosa get away with it.

If you read the MSN homepage, he said he used it in practice to give the fans a good show and accidentally grabbed it in the game. Why would you even bring a corked bat to a game??

So, he's claiming he "pratices" with a corker?

That's what I was thinking...

After playing baseball since I was a sperm all the way up through HS (4 year letterman thanks... thank you... thank you very much) I've never heard of anyone using a 'corked' bat for BP (batting practice).

What's the point?

You want to practice with the same equipment that you're going to use in the game right? I mean, sure it's the time to experiment with new equipment but, you never hear of a guy going out there with an oven mitt to see if it's going to work as well as his leather mitt!...

Ludacris bull***** excuse if you ask me. Practice bat.

Sammy... man... you got busted and, in turn, blackend the eye of every home run hitter in the majors. Toss Pete Rose out for gambling? You should be exiled back to Cuba for cheating. SHAME!

He should be banned from baseball for LIFE. No need of a cheat in baseball. There are many talented people out there waiting for a postition to open so we should say "bye-bye Sammy".

I don't care what the guy say's he KNEW it was corked and used it, oppps...

Most likely he will be treated like some king since he is a big time money maker for a team, just like druggies and rapist are treated like kings. When you start banning these morons from making big time money for being idiots then you just might see some actual good role models...

Ouch is right. The black eye that he's given baseball (who hasn't fully recovered from numerous black eyes in the recent past) is something that will, yet again, set it back.

This is the American Past Time... I have no time or respect for anyone that would cheat at this, or any other sport.

Like I said, Pete got screwed out of the hall of fame. I think we definately have grounds for the same for Sosa.

I was watching the Braves game last night and they cut the game to show the broken bat. I've heard three stories. 1: He used it in batting practice. 2: He used it for fun to impress fans 3: Homer Hitting Contests.

I'm not sure what to believe yet, he has always been known for his long long homers so that goes against him too, especially howcome it just so happened he got that bat at just that time and it just so happened to break then? I don't think he's been using one all along though or it'd have been found out much sooner.

They confiscated between 400-500 that Sammy had in his lockers and I suppose they'll Xray them..

PS: GO MARINERS!!

The good news is that all 76 of his other bats were x-rayed and none of them had cork.

Frankly, it will still cast a shadow of doubt on his record.
