Opinion: Alarm effectiveness?

Even the good alarm systems aren't fool proof.
A buddy of mine had an expensive alarm installed along with a nice radio system etc...
Whoever broke into his Mountaineer knew it was there, knew where to go to snip the wires, and made off with everything he had inside.
He walked outside to see his hood open, dash ripped to hell, and no audio/video equipment remaining.
Almost looked like a professional job... that or the guys that did his install found him and got it...

I just got a Python 880xp installed on my truck. Its got the two-way LCD pager that informs ME from afar that the alarm is going off.
Like many others, I don't look twice or think twice about someone's alarm going off. However, if I hear MY alarm going off I want to react. So ... I got this ...
