Glad your all OK, and I hope that your all dealing well with the aftermath.

It's amazing that a drunk could miss all that stuff for all that distance! If he were standing in front of a toilet to take a **** I bet he'd be pissing all over the floor. He wouldn't be able to hit the bowl, right in front of him, to save his life.

That sucks!

Geez, that is scary. You must have jumped out of your skin when it happend.
Glad you and your family are ok.
Did you ever make it to the 500?

Back in the early 90s when I was in high school, a 17 year with a sweet Camaro (heavily modded) was out drinking with his buddies. He ended up driving his Camaro into a cement block house at an estimated 80mph. One of the kids died, two others with serious injuries, and the driver went to got out of the car to run, but did not get far cause his femur (leg bone) shot out his skin. Besides messing up serval lives, and messing up the house he totaled two nice cars (one a Vette) in the garage of the house he hit. I remember no one gave him any sympathy when he came back to school a few weeks later. Damn shame.

Just another reason that when someone gets pulled over for DUI or DWI it should be mandatory 30 days in jail, no questions asked. If they cause something like they did with your house he should get mandatory 10 – 20 years in prison for the “what-if”. He very well could have killed someone or seriously injured them, just because he didn’t doesn’t mean he should get off. I say put the dumb *** in prison for 10 – 20 years and others like him and you will see a dramatic fall in moron’s that can not seem to get it through their brain dead mind not to “drink and drive”

Geez i'm sorry man. That scares the crap out of me. The lower level of my house in the front facing the street is the living room. My baby girl is always crawling around by the windows and my son is always playing in there too.

God forbid, if anyone was standing right in front of that window, they wouldn't have had a chance. I'm glad your family is alright.

Yikes!
Sounds like it is time to plant lots of large trees (placed close together) in front of you house or put up a guard rail or a thick stone wall or something...

Just wanted to add my two cents here.

This past summer, a co-worker of mine had her jeep wrecked right outside her house. It was about 1:00 am and the cops were chasing a "suspect" and said "suspect" slammed into her parked jeep, right out her front door.

Neither his insurance nor her insurance covered it because the accident happened during a crime (the police were chasing him). Her jeep was totalled, and she had to go out and buy a new vehicle, with no help from her insurance or his insurance.

Good luck.

Sheez! That sucks.

So, what kind of insurance do you have?
and have they done anything yet?
My insurance (AAA) hired idiots. I had to tell them not to send these people out anymore.

i would be talking to a lawyer. was the car that hit her jeep stolen? if it was stolen and not reported yet, the owner's insurance company is responsible. otherwise it should be covered under her compreshensive insurance. if she only had liability, then obviously she won't get any help from her insurance.

I think you are confusing the two times that a car hit my house in the 9 month period.

First time was a Jeep, and only a Jeep was involved.

Second time was a truck and a semi that were involved.

Everything has been taken care of at this point, although State Farm dropped our coverage after the second time. After we were dropped we wrote a big ole letter and we got it back, but are under a sort or probationary timeframe where if something else happens it is over.
