Gave Blood Today

Well, I gave a pint of blood today. However it wasn't to the Red Cross. Up here in NH and Maine they have what are called "Blackflies". They are only out for about a month and a half, typically the whole month of May, depending on the winter.
These little bugs are the size of gnats and they bite and actually draw blood. Towards the end of their life they get even worse. So I am out trying to wash the damn truck and feeding these damn bugs at the same time. I'm hopping around trying to move quick so that I only have less than a hundred on me at once. My legs and arms are bleeding and I am not getting a quality job accomplished.
I hate spring in NH! Those who live up here know what I am talking about and I am sure there are many places with insects like these. So what insects interfere with your truck washing? The only ones that count draw blood!

Rugby3:

MAN I know what your talking about, them freaking little creatures of pain, DAMN.

It is like they roam around in gangs of like 20 or more. One minute there is none around then the next thing you know its a major damn invasion.

A few weekends ago I am out polishing my truck and everything is good for a while then all of a sudden a gang shows up and start depleating me on my life source. I go to the garage and grab my family can of RAID, you know the big big one and start deploying this "weapon of mass destruction" chemical warfare baby, and nothing, it is like they live on this crap.

So, I pull out the grill lighter and start shoting flames like 4' to 5' long, YA BABY, FRY YOU MOTHERS FRY. I got most of them and the few that were left retreated for another battle on another day.

Hmmm, reminds me I need to stock up on some more of that chemical warfare and lighters for future battles...

The irony in this is that the only thing that will keep these blood suckers off you is "skin so soft" from Mary Kay cosmetics. They make a killing up here during blackfly season. There isn't a bug repellant that comes close. You either walk around smelling of skin so soft or you walk around bleeding from bug bites.

Saturday was a real bit*h. My daughter, her date and her friend and her friends date show up so I can get some pictures (Prom), they show up and come into the house to see me cleaning my shotgun (makes a great impression on daughter's date ).

Anyway we go outside to take some pictures and I guess because of what someone was wearing for perfume or what ever brought these bad boy's out from the entire state. I was like "Get back in the damn car and get the hell out of here"

Na, I took pictures while they were feeding...

One day I have GOT to move back to Calif. at least there the smog kills all these nasty little flying freaks...

I had a professor in college that spoke of getting sprayed down with DDT in a can to prevent bugs...

LOL!!!!!!!

I think that explains alot about that guy now.

DDT is pretty nasty stuff. One tablespoon of it can contaminate every molecule of water in the Pacific Ocean...

easy remedy

Take a dryer sheet fresh fromthe box and rub it all over yourself then stick the dryer sheet in your pocket or the back of your hat and they will be gone... WE have many blackflys here to.. tooooooooo many.
