Annika missed the cut, and won't play this weekend. Bummer! Still, She did pretty good considering the huge amount of pressure heaped on her. There is a lot of PGA Tour winners who don't make the cut every time. Now, let's just see how long it takes for VJ to start spouting his verbal diarrhea again. Any bets???

Don't get all caught up in what the "media" has to say. What VJ said is correct. Again I don't blame Annika one bit, she was offered a spot and accepted it. Colonial didn't want a circvus show, but were told it was going to happen so accept it. BofA, Callaway they are the ones who produced this circus and they got fu(ked.
Did you actually think she'd make the cut?
She is a GREAT (the best) woman player, but to make it out on the PGA tour takes more than that.
Yes, I do speak from many years of experience.
To the point: All VJ said was that she was taking a spot away from an otherwise deserving (someone who had qualified for the tour - conditionally most likely) player.
RF - Yep, I thought she would make the cut. She's damn good. Even then, I wouldn't want to even try to imagine the pressure that was on her, admittedly by her own choice.
When I was in Texas, I played a little on the "Blue Max Tour", a little local golf association in North Texas. I remember the first time I teed off. About a hundred other guys standing behind the first tee and I step up with my 3-wood and take a mighty swing. Caught the ball on the heel of the club, and it ended up about 40 yards left and 20 yards forward. The guys could only hold back the laughter and heckling for about 3 seconds. Man, The pressure on the tee box was suffocating!
I ended up parring the short par 4, due to a really nice approach shot, but I think I'll always remember the pressure. Now I try to play every single tournament I can find to try to "immunize" myself against the pressure. When I retire from the Air Force I'd like to try to play golf for a living.

You better start NOW, don't wait.
I've played professional tourn golf for quite awhile and still get the "1st tee jitters" (albeit not all that much). It just means your nervous because you think you have a chance at winning. Thats a good thing.
Had a friend that had a hard time dealing with it, he struggled to get a tee in the ground. The more you play in those situations the better you deal with it - usually. Obviously, only Tiger ( and a few others that regularly play with him) is used to what Annika had to deal with there.

It's like I said... she played damn good golf. No one can take that away from her!
Being the standard weekend warrior, (I shoot a consistant 78-84), I admire that she took the invitation.

***Point of view from a NON GOLFER***
I think Annika did quite well for herself in the showing she made. I watched along with others as she shot the first day. I think maybe she got the jitters the second day. Who knows, maybe if she could have kept everything in check, she could have made the cut.
Its my thinking she was invited because Tiger was not going to play. And they needed something to increase the viewership......got me to watch! That being said, if women want to play the in the PGA, shouldn't the LPGA be abolished?
Then all anybody has to do to play, is make the final cut, right?
And here's a thought, what would happen if Tiger all of a sudden said, he wanted to play in the LPGA.
