I'm not a member anywhere thus, I'm limited to the public courses or, on occasion, scoring an outing with a buddy of a buddy that is a member somewhere.

I really like Eagle Creek out in La Grange (semi-private)... and, I know this sounds corny but, I like Charlie Vettner (public) off of Billtown Rd. It's narrow and really challenging in my opinion. Fairways are a little less than to be desired though...

I ask because my Dad still lives in Louisville so I go out there every so often. He's out by Valhala (not a member). He's looking for a new place to play now, he was at the Polo Fields, but you couldn't walk (he's 70 so is important to continue to exercise and walking 6 miles is good exercise when your 70) and they didn't have a good group "old guys" that played much.
For a public course I likes Senaca Park. Its got some length and some good holes.

Seneca is nice. I've played there several times. Like your father, I enjoy walking the course and find it rewarding to know that, even though I went out there and shot a 100+, I got some decent exercise.
