I remember the Challenger - it happened 16yrs, 4 dyas ago. I couldn't believe that tragedy - this is even worse.
I also remember the Columbia's 1st launch. I took off from college & taped off the TV the entire event. They had a song - changed the words to "On the Road Again" to celebrate the event. I sang that song for days - I was dammed proud of the US for this new phase of space exploration.
My heart breaks for the astronauts, their families & the people at NASA - especially those who were guiding the shuttle home this morning. How awful they must have felt at the moment when they lost communication with the Columbia. Rest in Peace dear astronauts. God Bless.

Unhappy Say a prayer

Let's forget about all our little problems and remember to pray for the families of the brave Astronauts who perished today. I can't believe it happened again, God Bless all seven, John H.

This event has hit home for me in a special way. One of the crew members on board was my dad's flight surgeon (doctor) for one of the squadron's he was in when he was in the Navy. I'm not sure that i know him personally but my dad does. i think that this is just a horrible thing that happened. when i first heard what happened, i was over at my friend's house coming up for breakfest and his mom said the Columbia exploded coming in to land. i thought she was kidding until i saw the TV. i just couldn't believe this. it was like nothing was real. jeez...i just can't believe any of this happened. it still doesnt seem real.

Just looking at that picture of the crew makes me upset. God bless all of them and I hope their families make it through this rough time. Something like this makes you realize never to take life for granted. Ever.

When I heard the news this morning, I got that sinking feeling, like I knew them, and I'm not a sensitive guy. What a loss!
