After hearing that the state of Florida changed its opinion and let a Muslim woman have her picture on her driver's license with her face covered, I believe this is even more appropriate.

IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST ADAPT. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.
I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. Our population is almost entirely comprised of descendants of immigrants.
However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.
We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!
"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider anot er part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.
If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other great American freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.
If you agree -- pass this along; if you don't agree -- I don't want to hear about it.
AMEN

Excellent post!!!!
I absolutely agree, either you adapt or get the hell out of here. This is America and we should NOT ever change our ways to make a very FEW feel welcome.
The whole thing about the covered face on the licence is completely STUPID. To me that states there is no need to have your picture on it in the first place.
This is America and we have our traditions Christmas being one of the MAIN ones. Now I don't mind people celebrating in their own way, or not celebrating at all but do NOT tell the MAJORITY of us that do that we can NOT.
Remember that Christmas is based on the Christian belief, which the American constatution is based on that is a fact. So for people to say we can not celebrate or tell our kids in school that it IS not Christmas break but rather winter break is like saying don't mind the constatution it has no meaning.
I am tired of these VERY small MINORITY groups telling the MAJORITY what to do. America is based on MAJORITY rules, if you don't like it TOUGH then try to change the law the way it is suppose to be done not with these money hungry, gutter slimmy. spineless, have NO values lawyers.
When I was in the Navy I visited many countries and not one of them have ever changed their values or holidays to make Americans feel at home. It is not Americans home in Japan, or Korea, or Thailand, or Hong Kong.
This is America's home here in the USA and we need to maintain AMERICA values and holidays not add every damn holiday celebrated in every other country to make people feel at home.
This is their new home, if they don't feel at home with America's ways, then go back to your old home. I would ask why did you come here in the first place if you don't like it. I have nothing against people from other countries coming here LEGALLY, but once your here speak english, and follow American laws, rules, values, and traditions.
I will invite you to my house and welcome you in, but I am not repainting, buying different plants, getting a different pet, or speaking another langauge to make you feel welcome. I will give you my friendship, my assistance if you have a problem, the food I know how to cook, a ride if needed, and a friendly enviroment. If you come to my house uninvited in the middle of the night kicking my door in I will give you a pound or so of buckshoot.
I do not go to my neighbors house, or friends house and ask them to rearange their funiture so it's like mine, I don't ask them to get rid of their cat because I don't like cats, I don't ask them to feed me steak instead of porkchops, and I don't ask them to change the channel on the TV because the program they are watching I can't stand. It is their home, if I don't like it I can get up at any time and leave and go back to my own home.

I agree. It is not that I do not like these people, because many of the are pretty good people and I have several friends that I can barely understand. What I don't like is when someone from another country comes here and tries to tell us how we should be.
Has anyone here ever sit back and watched news programs and read the newspapers? If so, you would see that probably 80-90% of the so-called "contraversies" are caused by people who came from other countries. It is a shame that you have to watch every word that you say in public for fear that someone, especially from another country, may get "offended by it". They do it because is most of the third world countries, they are not allowed to speak their minds. So when they come here, they will find something that they can speak out on. If you notice, an american will hardly ever say anything when someone from another country says something, but turn it around and tempers will flare.
Also why do immigrants often not have to pay taxes? These people are always the first to criticize everything we do. Like was said before. "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, LEAVE". I don't mind them over here, but when they want to start trouble, they should be sent back home. By the way, everyone here should have to speak english as their primary language. If they can't learn it, leave. We don't go to their country and make our own rules so why can they come over here and make their own rules? It is so stupid

There is still some of this going on within our borders. Equal rights, affirmative action, and all of that crap showed the world that we will bend. Now they expect it and know if they throw a fit we will bend.
I heard something about female athletes wanted to have an equal number of male/female athletes in college programs. Female atheletic organizations think that too much is spent on football and mens basketball. I don't know where this was, maybe nationwide, but it appears that some mens sports programs will be deleted since the only way to comply is to reduce the number of men. Maybe someone knows more about this.
Also, look at the media circus this whole Senator Lott thing has become. Yeah, he did not pick the best time to voice an opinion. People are demanding he step down right now. He did not even make a flat out racist comment. He simply voiced his opinion about Thurman. A saw it as more of a complement to Thurman than a racist slur. It gets more attention than it deserves.
My point is, as long as we have all of this other crap going on amongst ourselves, we will continue to receive it from other groups of people.

The way we have to cater to foreigners has been pissing me off for a long time.
I was stationed in Europe for 2 yrs while I was in the service. The only time you saw anything in the English language was when you were near a U.S. military installation.
Nobody goes out of their way way for the U.S., but we are expected to bend over backwards for everyone else.
I think we should change our motto to: IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT- LEAVE!!!
I guess we can thank the liberals for this.
I'm done ranting for now, carry on.

Had a little time at work, plant down for CHRISTMAS hoildays, so I read a lot of "older posts. I am a BS and PH holder from or little campain in the country of bad things(Vietnam, for those not old enough). I firmly believe it is a right of every man/woman/child to be able to express their own opions. I can not and will not become politcally correct. If people for other countries want to come and live in this country of ours, then "BY GOD" let them learn to speak english. I really don't care if they speak their own language in their own homes, but out in public, english. It is up to the people of the United States to not only complain here, but also to their political repensetives to change what is a slow decline in our way of life. I have very good friends from different countries and they know how I am. They don't try to force their beliefs on me and I in turn recipicate. By the way BS&PH mean Bronze Star and Purple Heart for those who didn't know. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

Think about it.
Odd, the founders of our country didn't have anyone to kiss their behind upon their arrival. Many died their first year here.
Seeing as how my 'family' paid the ultimate price for my freedoms, I wanna be a 'something' American too, damn it!
It seems to me something can be learned from our Italian immigrants. The people I know that came here from what they call "the old country", came here, got jobs, or started businesses, learned our language, and generally made themslves at home. Many still speak Italian amongst themselves, and have retained their culture while living in ours. When they call Italy, "the old country", it means just that. Their "old country", while the United States, is their "new country". They did not come here expecting us to learn Italian to communicate with them. They are proud to come here, declare themselves to be an "American" and fit in while keeping their heritage, and I am proud of them for doing it.
(and I don't recall any of them demanding to be called "Italian Americans")
