Weight & Fuel Consumption Questions
I was hoping some of you can help me with some research that I am doing.
What I would like to know is for Supercab, Long Box & Crewcab, Short Box, V10 & PowerStroke configurations in the F250's 4x2, what is the weight? Please tell if it is an empty weight or one tank full and driver in it, both tanks full ... well you get the idea.
The other question is with the above configurations what kind of mileage are you getting and how many miles do you have on the trucks at the time of checking the mileage?
Just trying to figure out for later reference incase I don't like the new '04 F150 look when it comes out. Thanks in advance.

Supercab 250 PSD SB 6300 lbs. 53000 19+mpg 21+mpg w/propane
Crewcab 250/350 LB 4X4 7300 lbs. 17-19mpg
These are big trucks, sometimes 2X the 150's...But they are workhorses...
Ask Goochy if he likes his....

You didn't ask about the V-8, but I figured you could also use it as a reference point.
2002 - F-250 SD- Crew Cab - Long bed V-8, 3.73 LS 4x4
With 6,000 miles since March, I average 12.25 to 12.60 MPG. I get about 450 miles per tank.
Get the SD, it's nothing like the 1998 F-150 4.6L V-8 2wd, I had.

2002 F-250 SD 4x4 Crew cab short bed with Leer cap.Full of fuel no driver 7,390 LBS. According to the trip computer (Lariat)
I get low 17's local and between high 19's to just over 22 highway ( 22 mpg was on cruise control,65mph no hills or stop and go. I just have a SC microtuner (carb file) and a KN drop in.

Mine S/D has the V8 & it does Very Well
I WAS very concerned when I bought it (Price was Right) but I Soon learned the V8 does a Good Job with this Size of Truck I don't do much towing but have done Hauling & STEEP climbing (Off-roading in Mountains)
I would recommend the V8 I get 12 City & 16 Hiway (Mountains)

MPG for F250
I have no idea about the weight, but I have a 2003 F250 4X4 Crewcab V10 Shorbed. So far it seems to be getting about 14 on the freeway and as low as 8 stop-and-go driving. It is only 3 weeks old and they say the mileage improves - we'll see. I just added a K&N drop in, but haven't filled up since then (I guess the K&N is working...)
On the same note, anyone have any suggestions for a Cat Back for the V10. I would like to increase HP, however my #1 desire would be improved MPG.
As for the V10 vs the V8 vs the PSD - the PSD was my first choice, but it was cost prohibitive at $4000+ more than the V10. The V10 has very nice power, especially offroad - it's there when you want it. I have never driven or even been in the V8, so I have no idea about that. I will say though, this is a heavy truck, more power is a good thing... I had an Expedition with the 4.6 and it was a POS; a total dog - it couldn't get out of it's own way. Better to go big and have the power without 10K in mods than to be upset and end up having to dump a truck load of cash into a truck to make it acceptable... The V10 is more than acceptable.
