whats the better choice of truck

Leaving what I am doing with it aside, and strictly what we know about trans and engines wich of the following is the better choice, assuming they are both it good condition, and both have clean car fax.

2011 f250 xl with 160k on it. Excellent condition

2008 f350 6.4l diesel Lariat 220k on it... also in excelent cond.

Both trucks are mostly highway, and have clean titles and carfax.

Both are nice trucks, but witch one will last longer? I know diesels should outlive gas providing matinence was done . but there is a large milage diff here.

On the plus side in my state the f350 is exempt from more emisssions things due to its weight rating.

Opinions and experience please.

Also, I want to add, I have a full service shop and all maintenance and repairs will be done by me so it is strictly the price of parts, no labor cost.

The 2011 has a 6.2 gas.
I just drove the f350 at lunch time ..not a bad truck but not as clean as the 2011.

Worried the DPF system could cause problems... he got "Drive to clean" messages in the past. I know when they clog they can ruin the motor

I'd go with the 2011 with 6.2. The early 6.4's did have issues. My nephew had one, it stuck in regen and cooked the DPF. The 6.2 is a solid, relatively simple gas V8 that should last a long time.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. The 6.2 is also very clean.

6.2

Yeah, I decided to go with the 6.2. Hopefully it will be a decent truck.

Choices of trucks has a very wide range of options and what you're going to use your truck for. I've been driving Ford vehicles all of my life and my last 11 were F150 and one F100. I bought my 2017 Super Duty F250 Platinum mainly to pull my new bass boat but I really didn't need it for my 2016 F150 pulled the bass boat just fine. I have no other expenses. My house is paid for and I'm 71 years old and figured I may as well enjoy the ride in my new Platinum while I can. I can't take it with me but I can surely drive the heck out it.

That is one nice truck.
The type of work I do what I pull and where I live I tend to brake f150's I have had many.
I ended up with the 2011 f250, and like it so far.
I also had to have the manual hubs too.... I can't stand pulling off vaccume lines on brush and sticks and stuff, or even deep snow for that matter and having to clime under the truck to plug them back in
