I tried to like the Ranger, I really did. I went to see them, and could not believe that they haven't really changed in 17 years or so. Maybe Ford is afraid that a better Ranger would only take sales away from their F series sales. I would drive a Colorado before I would drive a Ranger.

All I have to say about a Taco is that the price is almost equal to a tundra. Also if you put on a leveling kit and bigger tires the truck feels it!

I said an old beater, not a new one! Do you need more than that for your Home Depot runs?

Yeah, I've been looking at older ones and don't plan on lifting or modifying it in any way. Something in the $5000 range, since I just got a bonus that was close to that amount. Not sure why certain people would assume otherwise...maybe for the same reason he assumed that I sold the truck because of the battery issue.

For that kind of money, why not try to find something like what I have? I was actually looking for something like an extended cab Ranger or a Taco until I found this thing. It's a hell of a lot more comfortable and it was also a lot cheaper. The later 4.2's in the OBS were very reliable and in a single cab 2wd with a stick it does get out of its own way.
