Are you looking at a 5.4, a V-10, or a diesel?

If you have the coin, might look into an '11. I've read where they are getting pretty impressive MPG. They also have a 3.31 gear option. I'm refering to the diesel BTW.

Or you could always try marrying a rich old lady

Honestly I don't think the 6.4 is too amazing in the MPG department until you delete some things and have it tuned by either Innovative or Spartan. Good luck boss.

The 08 F550 service truck we run at work has about 50k on it now and has not had a single problem. So far its reliability has been as good or better than the 7.3L trucks we have are. These trucks do not have an easy life either.

Unless you're willing to give up your warranty (DPF delete) then you're probably no going to like the mpg. Best I've ever heard of was 18 under near perfect conditions.

People love to talk crap about the 6.4L, but the only people I see having issues are the people running ridiculous 300 HP tunes and DPF deletes. I haven't had a single issue with mine. Buy what you want, or just keep talking about buying something.

Why do you want out of your current truck? I'd paint the bumper and fender badges black and supercharge it. Good lookin truck.

well i added the fx4 center shift console, and i liked it, but im wanting something with less miles and a warranty. i know i can buy extended ones and just give it TLC, but personally i love luxury and bells and whistles. the line of work im in, i spend a lot of time in my truck so i wanna be comfortable and wake up and say, "damn, hell ya! i get to drive THIS!"

Why not a V-10 gasser? Those things pull like a locomotive and run forever with just basic maintenance. What you THINK you are saving with a diesel's fuel mileage evens right out when you factor in the per gallon cost of diesel vs. gas and the higher diesel maintenance costs - think 15 quart oil changes and higher oil/air/fuel filter costs.
