Pressure washing a 6.0L Powerstroke?

My neighbor and I were just discussing the other night if he pressure washed his 6.0L diesel. He said he didn't but I watched a man this morning do his. Hope it still runs. Anyone have info on this?

I wouldnt there are to many sensors and places to get water in these engines.

Water+Diesel Engine= Very expensive trip to the dealer

Thats what he and I were discussing yet this morning the owner of said truck had someone doing this. He may be pissed when he gets home. I would have went over to say something but by the time I saw him doing it it was far too late.

If it sits and dries out he may get lucky.

Looking across the road the man DID start it and pull into his shop building to clean the inside so it started. Hopefully it will sit and dry out before this guy gets home.

When I have pressure washed my truck, and was using it to "knockoff" the simply green in the engine bay, I would keep my hand off the trigger, so it was only getting a light spray.

I would by no means stick the wand down in close.

Those engines are sealed up pretty good. When I used to work on them for a living I always hosed them down good. If you are using a pressure washer don't have it concentrated to one spot. A good wide spray won't hurt anything. Don't spray into the air filter intake or anything dumb like that, though. Just use common sense.

I guess it worked out OK. It still runs great with no problems. He used soft spray not the high spray with the trigger.
