Tailgate step on the F-250+

does anybody but me think the new 2008 Superduty "Tailgate step" and handle thingy is kinda like really gay? I mean the truck is great... but I think that ridiculous-looking step and handle contraption is Ford's grasping at a straw to bring in buyers.

If I bought one of those the 1st thing I'd do once I got it home is rip off that stupid thing and throw it away.

It'd come in handy when you're riding on 44s. .

First off it is hidden in the tailgate, and secondly it is optional. It is a great thing for people who use their trucks for work. If you are a homo who buys a truck for looks then I guess you would think its gay.

First off show me where any other manufacturer has even thought of a tailgate step for their trucks, even in concept, let alone put it in production. Just another example of why Ford F-series is the leader in the full size truck market. Anybody takin' bets on whether Dodge and GM will copy that for the '08 heavy duty line?

I think it's a great idea. There's been times that on my stock f150 I've wished I had one, especially if the beds wet.

What does using the step have to do with being lazy? A couple contractor buddies of mine keep toolboxes in the back, having a step would make it alot easier to get in and out of the box as they go for tools they need to do a project.

What if its lifted? What if you have a bad back? I could go on and on for days with "Ifs" and why this is such a good idea.

I'm sorry to be so blunt but, stop being naive.

You can bet that the idea for that step did not come from some Engineer sitting behind a desk staring at a computer screen.

It came from someone who has to unload or load a vehicle, or climb up in the back to get something from the tool box.

It's a good idea. Just wish I had thought of it.

I can see how some people would like it & see it as useful. Me? I certainly wouldn't spend any money on it.

KC-10 FE out...

I actually use the bed of my truck and would love to have a step like the one on the new F250.
