orderded new 08

hi all.. i ordered my new 08 today... Got a 350 with the new diesel.. deep blue metalic... auto with torqueshift.. short bed.... super cab lariet.. 4x4 off road ... got pretty much every option possible.. didnt get the new tailgate step though.. still young and can climb in the back.. plus i dont see it not making noise after awhile hitting bumps and plowing... what was new to me is you cant get a lariet with a fx4 package... the fx4 is its own truck now.. you need to get the 4x4 off road package to get 4 whell drive with the other models.. but its all the same features as the fx4.. just no fx4 sticker on the truck.. after everything was said and done the price was actually a little cheaper then i thought it would be.. dealer said it would be about 8 to 10 weeks until in arrives.

anyone know exactly what the new heat suppliemnt is ? i got the option and not to sure of what it is... understand it puts out heat faster ???

Man your dealer is open early for a Sunday morning!

The electric heat option is something that has been around for a long, long time. Most people refer to it as the cigarette lighter. When it's cold out you push it in and then when it pops you wrap your hands over it. Works pretty well.

Seriously, it's an metal coil that current runs through and heats up and then the fan blows across it. Much like a space heater.

So what did the new rig cost you?

How much did you pay for the new 2008 and when did they say it will be here ?i sure hope they dont have all the problems they had with the 6.0 when it first came out. being this one is going to be twin turbos i hope they got it right this time on the first ones that come off the line. i think just about 1 in every 10 6.0 trucks in the 2003 had alot of problems and ford had to buy a bunch of them back. took ford about 6 months and then the problems were fixed .i think i would wait till it has beeen out for at least a few months. but i know its hard to wait the new look on the 2008 is bad as#. we saw them at bthe state fare.

Good luck using X-plan on a 08 superduty. I know my dealership will not sell them for X-plan. We are selling them for sticker and we can't keep them on the lot.

Dosen't make any sense? The X or A plan is a cut from the factory, not the dealorship. So they are saying that the people that actualy make the dang truck can't buy them? Crazy...

Nice Truck you are getting there... We want pictures when it arrives along with your thoughts about it.

I think these new diesels will be better do to them testing them a lot before they came out to make sure they are working correctly without errors. I know there is a link on this site to ford testing 2 F450 with the new diesel towing 18,000 lbs for 150,000 miles without any problems...

The dealer near me (Rochester, MN) has an '08 F-350 King Ranch...sticker price is $57K, their "best price" is about $53K. It's been on the lot for nearly a week.
