How was it running the wire/cables? Did you go under the roof liner?

Yea, I bought 2 cb antennas at a petro truck stop and mounted them on my mirrors. They had the clamps to go on a metal swing out mirror but i just used longer bolts and they fit around mine. If I remember ill post a picture soon.

Thanks I was told that I can't put the antennas on the mirrors. Now I read someone runs them and they work!

I run two 4 foot whips on my mirrors i picked up while rollin on the blacktop last week, they work just about as the ones on my freightshaker i'd say a good 10 or so miles. the only time they become an issue is when they get iced up and whip side to side goin 60mph, then the mirror moves with them in the wind, no complaints though, BTW have mine mounted on the ceiling in the truck.

I was worried that mounting antennas on these F250 mirrors would eventually break the mirror brackets. After much thought and debate on a CB website I went with the Wilson 5000 mag mount. I ran the coax through the third brake light. I filed a little groove in the light assembley to run the coax in and sealed it. So far, so good. I was really against the mag mount. I wanted a roof mount but most everyone talked me out of it. People have said for best coverage you want the roof. They also say the antenna is more important than the radio itself. Now I want an amplifier!

As long as you run a ground from the antenna, it dosen't really matter if they are metal or plastic. If you are looking to get the most out of your antenna and radio, here is something to ponder. If you install 1 antenna, you will have have 360 degrees of reception and transmission. 2 antennae create a plane of an imaginary strait line.
