F450 Super Crew Pickup?

I saw the neatest pickup today and wondered if any of you Superduty fans have any info on it. And, I know I am lazy and could go to a Ford dealer but I trust you guys more.

On my way to work, I saw what appeared to be an F450 as described in the subject line. Never seen one of those before and I am interested in getting a line on one. It had chrome wheels etc. and I would assume a very upscale interior rather like the top of the line F250s you folks have. Could this be a standard Ford model or one of those custom jobs that dealers farm out to coachbuilders?

Yes they make F450s, they also make F550s. They have been made since 99 (must not get out much huh) in both 4x4 and 4x2. They come standard wtih 19.5" wheels and are only available in a cab/chasis. The advantage is they have a higher GVWR than an F350, but still small enough that you don't need a CDL. It also allows you to carry more weight as the truck has a high enough GVWR but is still lighter than a straight truck.

The RV place down the road put a F550 out front today for sale.
Crewcab, dualie, looks like an 8 foot bed.
Beautiful paint, very sexy.
Think I will stop tomorrow and slobber on the window.

My uncle has a RV F550 with a v10.
A lot of ambulance here use the F450 chassis.
I have never seen one with a pickup bed though.

I believe the F450 and larger trucks with the pickup bed are put together by aftermarket coach builders. There is a website www.f650pickups.com that has some really neat custom trucks.

An F450 does not have a Cat 3116 it has a PSD.If it has a Cat than it is a 650 or maybe a 750.Also An F450 is not a Supercrew it is a Crew Cab.

Gentlemen, I thank you all.

I got to the link that scraper posted and it was very quickly after that that I got the notion out of my system.
For an F450 custom built to about the same specs as my Blackwood I would be looking at about $90K which is way beyond my pocketbook.
But, again thanks for your input. It surely was a looker.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

The ones with truck beds are conversions since the truck is only available as a cab/chasis from the dealership. The ones with beds of any kind are usually converted as haulers. And yes, once you get them outfitted for pulling a trailer from a converision company (typcially as luxurious as a Lincoln) they are spendy. $90k might be a little on the high side, but I could see it. I'd love to have one, but I don't tow enough to justify it.
