I have 35" Tires on my 03' Ford 250 Gas Truck. The rear end is a 410 and I am contiplating changing it up to a 454.
My primary reason for looking into it is for improved gas milage, easier driving. I dont do alot of pulling but did recently take it on a road trip and I thought it down shifted quite a bit on the hilly open road. I need some suggestions. Is this a good idea or am I better off staying where I am now and keeping my $1300.00 ?
Any other suggestions on improving the gas milage on a gas truck?

I got this explanation off of GM Canada Truck Guide, but the graphics and the text explain I think what you are looking for.

this explanation on gear ratios should help you decide.
