Did Ford not make a superduty truck in 1998? I can't find anything about them....

The short story is that since the Super Duties were such a major change from the '97s they had to completely retool each plant they were made in. In order to keep a good supply of trucks, they did one plant at a time so as 1 plant was being retooled the '97s were still being produced in the others.

This all occured during the '98 model year so instead of having 2 different '98 models they just skipped it. It was planned, and not a mistake.

I was wondering why they did that, thanks for the knowledge!!!

No 98's year model, although there were trucks manufactured in the year 98(mostly 99's model)...

I have a 98 super duty. Its the 97 body style. I am wondering how rare this is. I think most of the light dutys have the regular f150 front axles with half shafts. This one I have has the independent suspension. I would love more info on this. I cant seem to find parts anywhere or any spec details. thanks

You don't have a 1998 Super Duty - you have a F-250LD (light duty).

The early '99s diesels are quick to spot with a PSDV8 badge behind the turnsignals like the gassers. Also they run a smaller turbo like the old body style trucks. Quicker to spool, but run out of breath sooner.
