Question rear window wiper

Any of you guys had trouble with you rear window wiper??? Mine has completely quit working. It's not something that I care to pay alot to get fixed, but I hate the fact that it's not working......Anyone else had problems??? How much was the cost of repair....I don't guess no recall has been issued for this..

Rear wiper

I had/have what appears to be an intermittent problem with mine. I took it to the dealer and they claimed they were unable to repeat the problem....therefore couldn't do anything. The tech that worked on it happened to be around when I went to pick up the vehicle. He told me this is an on-going problem with the Explorer and Expy. He told me if it happens again to leave the switch on and the go to the back wiper and hit the arm upward, on the nearest part of the ar closest to the motor. This MAY help....i't worked for mine so far. Good luck!

Well my problem started off th be intermittent, but has since quit working totally. Not too crazy about shelling out alot of money for something that I can live without.

I had the same problem with my EB Expedition a few months ago.
It was intermittent. Took it to the Ford dealer and mention to the service advisor that the problem is in the wiper motor. Because the techician couldn't duplicate the problem, he replaced the multi-function switch on the steering column. When I picked the Expy, the rear wiper wasn't working. I then complained to the service advisor. To make a long story short, the intermittent problem is in the rear wiper motor.

Already had that problem with my 01.
The dealership replaced the rear motor and both front motors (under that wiper motor recall).
Problem solved.
Good Luck.

I had the same problem. Stopped working all together. Had the entire rear wiper system replaced under warranty. Don't know how much it would have cost out of warranty.

If X is a 99 it should be under warranty.

There was a recall on the turn signal switch on the 99 Expy.
Take it to the dealer and have them look at the problem.

Good luck

"BIGREDEXPY: If X is a 99 it should be under warranty." I purchased the vehicle used with close to 50K on it, and passed on the extended warrenty. It would have cost me another 2K or so, just couldn't see where it was worth it......Just wishing they would go ahead and do a recall on it!!!

They have a new recall for the rear wiper motor. I got the letter a month ago. I don't know what years it covers, but mine is a 2000.
