Air suspension junkyard conversion/lift

I have a 2000 EB Expedition with the problematic air ride suspension. Would a pair of rear springs from a non air ride Expedition bolt in? I already have the springs, but don't want to start tearing into it and find out the spring mounts are different or something.

I hope to add my rear springs with spacers. Then replace the front air bags with regular shocks and crank up the torsion bars. Am I on the right track?

Thanks!
Rob the Noob

I have the same exact expy as you (2000 eddie bauer) and i was wanting to swap out my air ride with a lift and i was told by a couple of guys on this forum that if i got a lift kit for a non air ride expy, it would be compatible with my spring mounts. Also there is a company that makes a conversion kit...

I was hoping to use the boneyard springs and buy a set of shocks for the front instead of buying a conversion kit. I am a cheap ***.
I did notice that the front conversion kit uses coil overs opposed to standard shocks like the passive suspension uses. I wonder if the air ride trucks use weaker torsion bars (or maybe they are adjusted lower) considering the airbags set the ride height.

Your good to go on the swap. My rear end is tore apart as we speak and I'm replacing the stock airbags with 6" lift springs. As long as you get expedition springs your good to go.

No problem I like to help, I'll try and get some pics up when I get the new springs in. I just had work so I couldn't finish it up today and I'm still trying to figure out how to put the track bar relocation kit in lol.

Thanks for the info. I guess i'm going to tear into it soon considering one of my rear lower control arms rusted through and broke.
