2005 Expedition Transmission ?
Hi all.
I recently purchased a new 2005 4x2 Eddie Bauer Expedition, 5.4L engine. I traded in my '02 Suburban for it
My question is about the way the transmission "shifts". It's hard to describe, but I'll try.
When you are driving and the transmission shifts, it seems that the engine speed never decreases and the rpms never drop.. Its kind of difficult to determine exactly when it is shifting sometimes, unless your listening real hard for it.. The shifting is very smooth; there is nothing "rough" about it.
On my 97 F150, when the tranmission shifts thru the gears, you can definately tell when it shifts, as the rpm's drop and engine speed slows.
I don't think there is a problem really, i was just curious if its normal..
thx
Greg

Its like my exped never changes gears. its just barely noticable when changing. Sometimes, it even seems like the rpms increase ever so slightly when changing gears.
Its all very smooth, and my question originated from the "lack of droppign rpms" when changing gears.
Does this expedition have a 5 speed tranny ?
thx.
