Shorty Headers

Here's the link user EsJayEs suggested -

http://www.realtruck.com/gibson-perf...rs/gp207s.html

Those are $500 shorties w/free shipping.

Here's another link EsJayEs suggests, -

http://www.realtruck.com/gibson-perf.../gp207s-c.html

$586.70 for those shorties

No usable horsepower or torque gains, -they don't help down low, but you may see a little gain way up high in the RPM's. If your WFO everywhere you go, you may be able to benefit that wi amount of gain if you try...really hard.

Doesn't make sense as I said before. Shorties have NEVER netted gains to write home about. It has been that way for the tenth generation trucks w/the Modular Motors for as long as I can remember. All you have to do is research a bit. Not just here...google it.

Long Tube headers w/High Flow cats (2)

This is how CHEAP long tube headers could cost yuh if planned properly, -

Pacesetters, - (I installed 2 sets of these, -one set on my truck back in 08 and they've been great), -

http://www.streetsideauto.com/p/pace...R1gaAgBd8P8HAQ

They'll run yuh $262.99

I don't care what anybody says, I can tell you for a fact you DO NOT need special Y-Pipe. That is just bad information, no way around it. You use your factory Y-Pipe for LT headers and High flow catalytic converters.

Now that that's straight, -

High Flow Cats

Your 4 converts currently on your truck have a much higher value (more precious metals) then most catalytic converters being sold today. Cut them off, take them up to the salvage yard. I received $160 for my old converters, - since then, I've heard of guys getting $200 + for their original old cats.

So New High Flow converters are a wash , so to speak. Here's what they run for good ones - these are CARB compliant, it's what you want, -

Amazon.com: Magnaflow 34006 Universal Catalytic Converter - CARB Compliant: Automotive

$85.97 apiece, you only need 2, = $171.94

Adapters

You'll need two 3" ID X 2.5" ID Reducer to mount the cats to the collectors,-

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wlk-41973/overview/

$12.97 (2pcs) $25.94

You'll also need a 2.5ID X2.5ID Adapters for behind the cats to connect to the Y, -

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Exhaust-pipe...-/291259693849

$5.00 (2pcs), $10.00

Exhaust Clamps

Rock auto has you exhaust clamps,

http://www.rockauto.com/

3 1/8" (2pcs) $2.67 apiece, = $5.34
2.5" (6pcs) $1.32 apiece, = $7.92

The 5.4L and 4.6L share the SAME part number for Pacesetter headers, -10th generation F150 headers. Always have..

Thanks MGD. Yea, I'll make the installation as painless as possible for the OP. If he goes thru with it. He needs to post what he's got there, a 2wd or 4wd.

I think just about everyone says it's a big PITA installing long tubes on these trucks...it is. Specially if it's your first time. If you were to do it twice, you would be amazed at how much you learned the first time. I know, - how many people do this twice ? Yea,not many I expect. The second time was exactly a breeze, but it went much quicker and I managed to finish without an IV and a pint of blood before I was through.

So, I'll the guy install them. Good thread title, ("Headers")-it'll most likely get hit quite a bit.

Anyway, thanks, but furthis'en, -bad info made me do'er.

Which one says 4.6L and 5.4L? Curious. Sure, they'd physically bolt to the engine. But I'd be more curious to hear from somebody that has actually done it.

None of them. I say, -hows that for yuh...that give yuh a tickle?

Looks like you can pretty much go by what I saying vs your posts. I suggest you give it up for awhile and set your thinker in learning mode.

BTW, The only difference between the 4six and 5four is 3/4" on both sides, after considering the angle. The 4.6L, 5.4L v8's along with the 2v v10 all share just about the same heads. The only difference between these heads is that the v10 has 2 additional cylinders, other than that, everything is just about the same. That 3/4" is easily compensated for.

You can do your searching for the 4six header guys, - I'm not playin into that. If your so curious then shut up, read and listen.

I'll give one I know off hand, - User shifty85.

So do you have a point ? I explained how to do it, just like it's been done many many times before. (this dudes trying to make me post links...haha, - bite me)

This proves once again how much you don't know. It's like you have no field experience and you rely heavily on direction.

At least you refrained from your usual fictional crap, your fanaticisms.

An Improvement ? Doubtful, - you got a spanking is all lol.

Years of facts got you beat, - just peace out.

What sucks is, it looks like the OP bailed. (Last Activity: 10-27-2014 10:01 PM)

This thread can still be saved.

BigBuckMafia, if you come back, we'll fix you up. If not, can't say that I blame yuh.

Good Luck
