That's what I'm looking for thanks D

so there really is no loss of resonance by going to tru duals... I honestly take what you say as "professional" so me being me ... I listen haha...

I guess I shouldn't try to be doing a whole overhaul other than just changing out the muffler and tip exits ...

So right now I do have the bullet and I'm not sure how long it is right now off the top of my head but I will measure and maybe upgrade the length of it to cut down on sound

Thanks guys

3 inch pipe won't hurt you, and back pressure is not an issue when running your cats. Get the exhaust out the rear to reduce drone and get the muffler under the bed not the cab.

so I'm finally coming to a clearer conclusion of what i want to do now... but i have another question

I really would prefer to have the tips exit out the back ... except right now its a si/so bullet ... so would another y pipe after the muffler be bad? ... have them be about 2.5"?

and so far i meet the requirements of having the muffler UNDER the bed not the cab

A y pipe after the muffler wouldn't be bad I don't think, but it's a little uncommon. If you're going to get a new/different muffler anyway, just get one the is single in and dual out. There isn't too big price difference in SI/DO and SI/SO mufflers. I'd really just get a small Borla or Magnaflow over a bigger bullet. If you want noticeable sound reduction, it's best to go with a real muffler right off the bat. The biggest bullet I found in a quick search was 18" and that's still gonna be loud as chit.

If you decide for some reason that you're gonna keep the current bullet and do duals, I don't really see why another Y pipe would be bad. Other people's input on that?

Baby si/do BorlaXS is about $100 vs. Bullet for what $50 bucks? I'd rather have a great, smooth muffler for a little more

Just an fyi: a si/do just has an internal y. There's no reason not too and it's pretty common. Look at the guys who run magnapacks or xr1's and me soon with my stinger.

I appreciate your words man, but I'm not any better than the otherexhaust fellas on here, lots of smarts and know how on here, I'm just a part of it. I know how to get people the exact sound they want is all, from 4cyl to 8cyls. If I recommend you a setup I honestly believe that is what your describing that you want.

You definitely can run a Y pipe after a muffler for dual tails just as John ( truckguy24, another resident exhaust fella ) mentioned. There is no difference from that to it being inside the muffler already, with the exception of perforated tubing.

Check out mine.

KMAC i was listening to a couple 18" bullets via youtube and there were no vids of 150's just some silvys and it was a little less loud but still as deep .... so i was unsure if it would have been the right direction to go with this... so i have currently been looking into the magna flow 18" si/do and that will eliminate the need for that extra y in the end. then i can run the tail pipes out the back... then deal with painting them black somehow but thats another subject...

so now i just need to go check out some more clips !

A tiny Borla might be really of a comparable sound level, but I have a Roush that is a rebranded Borla and it's very small and before I put my long tubes on, my buddy's truck that's the same as mine was louder with twin bullets. A bullet is literally just a resonator pretty much, that's why they're so loud, they aren't "real" mufflers. But either way, that 18" Magnaflow should knock some of the sound out, so just go with that if you want to I personally prefer the sound of Borlas, but they're both good. Borla does make a wide range of muffler sizes. It's hard for me to say what's "loud" and what isn't cause I'm running no cats and a tiny Borla and I still don't think it's loud enough haha.

It's hard to judge a muffler from a video though, at least accurately. I spent so much time listening to clips, but couldn't decide. Then I heard the Roush catback in person and went "now THAT is what I want!" and bought it.

I completely know what your saying ... but just a little info of where I'm currently at in my decision making.... i can either do one of two things here and it may just come down to what is better suited for spending money in the first place....

i can 1. buy a new y pipe so i can exit the current 12" bullet out the back with dual tails and keep the current loudness but get rid of the dump

or

2. buy the magna flow 18" si/do and not have to worry about the y pipe, gain a new sound, and gain the tail pipes with a lower volume all together...

its a tough one honestly

Why don't you do the cheapest option first - just extend your existing tailpipe out from under the truck? Run it out in the stock location behind the right rear wheel at 45 degrees. See if that helps reduce the cab noise.

Well i am all for cheap easy route ... That sounds good glc but if I wanna spend the money i wanna do it right and get what I want so I'm trying to stick with those two options.

Mainly because ... I would want the stock exit tip black and not chrome ... Then comes the dealing with rock chips down the road so as of right now I haven't found an efficient enough way to make sure it both looks good and holds up in the long run!

What are your thoughts!?

If you go with keeping the 12" bullet and getting a y pipe, and you end up not liking it, you could hack out just the bullet and y pipe, then install the SIDO Maggie and re use everything else. Personally, I'd probably just spend the extra $100-150 to do the Maggie so that way it's done and you won't have to worry about messing with anything else. But if really doesn't hurt you much monetarily to try option 1 first, then go to option 2 later. And who knows, maybe the new exit will make the bullet tolerable!
