Flowmaster super 10 SIDE EXIT

Hello , I have a V8 5.4 and was wondering if I got the flowmaster super 10 and had it exit in front of the rear passanger side tire would it have horrible drone? Like that I could not stand most of my driving is around 55mph! I want a deep aggressive tone. I like the sound of these but not the drone! What are your thoughts?

*does it drone?
*will I get pulled over for this?
*will it pass illinois inspection?

THANKYOU! Please post/comment and opinion is greatly APPRICIATED !

You'll have a good tone, but in front of the rear tire, yes you'll have some pretty decent drone. Pulled over, no. Inspection wise, as long as your cats are hooked up, shouldn't be an issue.
Opinion wise, I love flowmasters; always have, had them on my last truck, (super 40's), and even now on my current truck, (super 44's), some people don't care for them, but each to his own!

They sound good, but not on F150s. I just don't like the hollow tin sound. Dodge & Chevys sound great with them.

It will hum a bit inside exiting before tire, but not horrible.

No problem. If you're gonna do a single exit, go with 3" piping. 2.5 if you're doing duals. If money's no object, could look into a set of hi-flow cats? Just a thought. Hope you enjoy it and have fun!

Hell yeah! That'll be a nice setup. Now if only I could talk my wife into getting me some hi-flow cats for Christmas this would be perfect. Haha, well enjoy your new exhaust man!

Exclamation Muffler inlit/outlet COMPAIRISON

Hello I have a V8 5.4 and am getting the flowmaster super 10 serries muffler. I and making it a side exit(before rear passanger tire). I want a loud aggressive tone with minimal drone... My muffler choices are center inlit/outlet or offset inlit and offset outlet...

Witch muffler style will:
1.)Create a more aggressive sound/deeper tone?
2.)More hp/mpg (if possible... I doubt it)?
**3.)MOST IMPORTANT witch will have less drone or resistance ?

THANKYOU! Please comment your ideas and opinions !

(Any comment is greatly appriciated)

Question Exhaust setup with minimal drone! HELP

Hello I have a V8 5.4 and am getting the flow master super 10 and running a side exit before the rear passenger tire. I know I am going to have some drone/resistance! But how do I keep it to a minimum when setting it up. Some ideas I heard....

IDEAS:
1.) muffler as far back as possible.
2.) after muffler at least 3" of strait pipe
3.) use a big tip like 12"

What else would help have minimal drone? Please help me out any ideas and comment I will take into consideration and will be appreciated!

Thank you!

Question ILLINOIS exhaust inspection/emissions HELP

Hello I have a 5.4 and and flow master 10s either dumped after rear axel or side exit before the rear passenger side tire. And yes I live in a part of Illinois that DOES have testing. But I had a few questions on these setups...

PLEASE COMMENT/REPLY any thoughts posted are appreciated (but please don't tell me to run a different set up!)

My questions:

1.) will this get me pulled over(opinion)
2.) with the drone be to bad for daily driver?(I expect some)
3.) will I pass inspection? (I have all 4 stock cats)
*4.) ***MOST IMPORTANT: is this even legal??

Once again please comment THANKYOU!

To answer all 3 of your questions at once, either style you go with, will have the very same results as the other. The only difference is which one will work better for your exit option. In your case, the offset inlet/outlet is your best bet

Just chocked full of questions huh? Haha
1. No
2. Shouldn't be unreasonably bad drone
3. With all cats working properly, inspection won't be an issue
4. There is not an exit location or type that is illegal, unless of course you are running open headers, cats only, or straight-piping it of course. In your case, either side exit or dumping it over the axle is perfectly legal.

There's not really a whole lot you can do to reduce drone, especially coming off of a super 10.

1. Maybe, in some municipalities that have strong noise ordinances.
2. Maybe, especially if you are dumping under the vehicle.
3. If there are no OBD codes, it should pass.
4. Dumping may not be legal, the pipes may need to be out the side or back if they want to use a sniffer for the emission test.

Note: Why have you started 4 separate threads on your exhaust mods? That's not the right way to use a forum.
