Ok I got a quote from a shop near me today and I was told $40-60 strictly for welding in a muffler. He quoted me about $295 per side for high flow cats (didnt mention which ones) installed, o2 sensors adjusted, and all parts. I dont really wanna shell out $700 on this so i was thinking i may just have them cut out my front two cats and weld in some piping. Does anyone know how much of a noise difference there is between stock front cats and magnaflow 94106 high flows? Ive heard that the magnaflows are way louder from some people and ive heard that they are about the same from others. One advantage i see with keeping the stock front cats is not having to worry about a CEL.

Thanks for all yalls help.

The two aftermarket hi-flows will be a couple decibels louder than the front cats only setup. Very insignificant. But to answer yes the hi-flows will be louder. Removing the rears cats yourself will save some big coin however.

But I have 2.25" true duals into dynomax bullets and i don't have my rear cats and its loud now. I was thinking the same thing and upgrading my cats to high flows because my driver side is rattling like crazy would the magnaflow 94306 be any louder then just the two i have?
true duals don't have a x pipe or h pipe....sorry you only have duals....

Ok then i guess i will just stick with the front cats only. Anything special i need to worry about when removing the rear cats? My only worry there is that I will fall in love with the loudness of the engine without mufflers or rear cats while driving to the shop

Just cut as close to the rear cat inlet to leave space for fresh pipe to flange over.

Here is how my 04 sounded with the rear cats removed with the front cats open.

With a high quality sawzall blade, not hard at all.
