Interchangeable Mufflers?
Interchangeable Mufflers?
I recently had a Borla Pro XS welded in and dont get me wrong I love the sound its just a little to mellow for me. I used to have a Bullet on and I loved the aggressiveness but it was just too much drone on the highway with the high flow cat. I have a welder and I was thinking what if I welded flanges on each side of the Borla and Bullet then on each side of the mid pipe so that I can just unbolt and swap mufflers for different situations like city and highway driving. Has anyone done this? I know some cars have it but I wanna know if there's an f150 out there that has.
It is simple, its just costly and laborsome. Stainless flanges will run a few bucks and switching in and out will just be a pain.
^ But I don't have any cats, so yours is much quieter. Haha
I don't know how you would make an easy interchangeable system. It would be easier to find a happy medium between the two probably.

^what he said. I ran an electric cutout on my last truck, it was loud but sounded like poop. It was nice to be able to drastically change the sound of the truck with the flip of a switch.
My buddy ran one of these mufflers in the past:

It was deep but quiet through the muffler and really loud with the cap off.
