So I don't know if this helps or not Darren, but I'm taking my truck via flat bed trailer to my guy with the headers on and nothing else. Taking him the cats in the box to install and finish the pipe work. Unless he's really up on every vehicle, how would he ever know it came with 4? Worth a shot. If he or anyone ever asked me, I'd say the whole exhaust system was damaged off roading and the cats were completely smashed. I took them off to do the repair work and now taking to an exhaust shop to get put back together; that's my story and I'm stickin to it. I'm doing it this way because I want to do my own work anyways, but my guy has already seen under my truck and could care less if I put two back on it. Don't know if that's an IL luck of the draw or if he's just a great guy/shop and not worried about it.

Well that is a no doubt way to get two in. I was mostly referring to difficulty of passing a visual check with only the two. My guy noticed but let me slide.

Eventhough vehicles around here aren't tested or inspected, most of the exhaust shops have catalogs and oem information available to them on how the oem exhaust was installed on the vehicle.....and some of them are strict A-holes about the cats too....they're afraid of the epa fines....

Thanks. No mufflers at all with single midpipe. The tips were just some from the shop that did the work. I'm not crazy about the sound. It's good at idle and low revs, but when you get into it, it starts to sound ratty at certain rpms. I think a SI/DO will be in my future.

Yeah I have a SISO Magnapack 3" with a Y pipe split after and it does sound crackly and ratty sometimes but it seems to be only when the gears change. Know what i'm talking about? Not sure what could fix the ratty problem, maybe someone can chime in.
