Aerokroil, and ease of removing.

Buy the O2 extensions. at minimal 16", 18" extensions do great.

Forget it.

What do you guys think about the ceramic coated pacesetters? Are they worth it? By time I factor in the painted headers, paint stripper, paint, and my time, I will be at the price of the ceramic pacesetters. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks

I think youre going to spend more than enough time just doing the install on the pasenger side, so personally I would just get the coated ones if thats what you want. Definately go with headder bolts, they made my install take 1/4 of the time it took to take off the old manifolds, plus 13 of the 16 studs came out with the nuts sized on em(never broke one thank god). I used sea foam and wd40 for a week, but i think the seafoam worked better as it stuck there to penetraite longer.
GL, when its all said and done youre going to love em.

I will be ordering the ceramic coated pacesetters in a few weeks, along with the BBK O2 extensions.

Ordered these harnesses today! Getting closer piece by piece! Also, when I install the headers I won't hurt anything driving around without a tune for awhile will I? Can I still tow with the headers before the tune? Anything else I need to watch out for? Thanks fellas!

*Update* Ordered 70-2227 Pacesetter painted headers, they will be here tomorrow . I have heard quite a few miss and hits on the VHT Flameproof paint, but I have heard nothing but good things about John Deere black muffler paint, part# TY25657. It is $18.67 per can here locally. Says its good to 800 degrees F, but there are quite a few harley owners running it with outstanding results and also guys with race cars running it also with no burnoff issues. As long as you strip off all the cheap paint that comes on the headers, rough them up with some 220 grit paper, clean them off with brake cleaner I assume, then these guys recommend 3 coats and let it dry, they don't say anything about having to bake it. They also say it is very thick for a spray paint and will not run. I will give it a shot and try to take pics of the process and let guys know how it goes.

P.S. I see a SCT Programmer and some custom tunes coming for my B-day or Christmas!!

Got the headers last night . And I was under my truck taking some measurements to see where I would need to make my cuts and saw on my passenger side cylinder #8 the top and bottom nuts and studs are broken off flush with the manifold. Looks like the bottom one broke a long while ago and the top one looks more recent. But I believe thats a good sign because the studs will be sticking out of the head about a 1/2" so I have something to grab onto. Just thought I would share that bit of info with you guys.

Got the headers all stripped and repainted with the John Deere muffler paint this weekend, they turned out great. I have pics and will load them up on a different day. Question for the other header guru's on here: I bought the felpro factory style replacement manifold gaskets, did any of you guys open up the holes in the gaskets to match the heads or headers?? Port match them I guess is what I am asking. If so, how did you guys go about this?? Thanks

FYI- the oem ecm can adjust the fuel mix up to 25% on the ODBII systems....should not be even a remote
issue.

Headers are ready to go in, have my bolts, O2 sensor extensions, slip on reducers from hooker, all of my lap joint band clamps, anti-seize, felpro exhaust manifold gaskets, new transmission mount, 8mm stud remover (for the 2 broken studs), and a M8-1.25 tap (to chase all of my threads).

Will the nipple for my egr that is in my manifold work in my header?? Thanks

Headers are installed!!! :rocker The fit is excellent, no problems with clearance at all. I replaced the transmission mount while I was there and had the transmission crossmember out. The hardest part was getting the old stuff out. I removed the engine oil dipstick on the driverside while installing that header and on the passenger side the header slipped right up in place from the bottom, I didn't have to remove the starter or the aluminum block with A/C lines at all. The only thing I did was loosened the transmission dipstick tube so I could get the bolt in. Exhaust sound great now, no leaks, and it is considerably louder with my dynomax bullets and 4x18 tips. Thanks for all the help guys I will post some fuel milage comparisons after I get some miles on them.

Yes, I just need to get some time at home to upload them. The inlaws have been visiting for the last week and I haven't had a whole lot of time for anything.
