AFE resonates too much-what else?

I have an AFE intake for my 07 F150 5.4 and just can't stand it anymore. At 2k rpm there's a horrible resonance that just sounds awful.

What other intakes are out there that don't do this-or do they all do this?

TIA.

Sell the AFE and do this mod. There are a couple of other threads similar in the Articles and How To index.

Not sure but don't the 04 to 08 3v engines run lean from the factory and doing an intake mod can worsen the problem? Im not 100% sure since i have an 02 2v engine but i thought i remember posts saying you need a programmer first.

the gotts mod though is the best and cheapest intake mod you can run

The 2004 and 2005 came from the factory in a near lean condition. By 2006, it is only the rare one that runs lean. But, you really don't get much benefit from a CAI unless you have a custom tune.

07 5.4 3v and a True Flow #20502 intake tube and fitting in fender, runs fine. Been on since sometime prior to August 2009 as it was there then. Has True Flow Foam Filter in stock box. No drone.

I think the "Gott's Mod" or DWV mod would be pretty much the same thing, just cheaper to do. It's what I would have done if this hadn't already been on the truck when purchased.

Ebay the AFE and do the gotts intake mod instead.
