Exclamation Ecoboost Exhaust (No Haters Plz)

Ok so I've had my F1EB for a few days and I can't stop thinking what it would sound like with an aftermarket exhaust!!!! A guy I know sugested to take the OEM exhaust off and put something aftermarket leaving everything else unchanged but the question is.....what kind of exhaust should I put on it for the turbos and stuff!?!?! Does back pressure affect the engine alot or should I be good!?! PS: soo many ppl talking crap about em CAI that they convinced me not to look into it so exhaust is my only option 4 now hehehe!!!!!

^ It would sound like any v6 with a loud muffler. A straight threw style muffler is best for maximizing turbo performance, but they sound like crap on a v6.

Eco boost makes good power and they are new, so I'ld be reluctant to make changes like loud mufflers until I heard someone elses .... let them be the guinea pig.

That's a lifetime lasting muffler that came on it, I might would split the pipe after the muffler and run duals straight out the back with pretty tips cause I like the looks only. That would'nt affect any systems.

Besides, never heard a 90 degree V-6 loud enough to hear sound good. They just don't.

x2 Its nice to be first an all, but if first sound like dookie then I rather be number 2. Wait I mean not number 2, like poop. or crappy sounding exhaust. hold tight brother, grand nationals sound different than a 400 horse small block but can still give em a run.

It's not going to sound like the traditional v8, but with the twins its not gonna sound like any v6. I'm personally waiting on Borla ect to bring out their cat backs and see what they come up with. I'm betting its gonna sound pretty good.

People saying it'll sound like a ricer don't know WTF they're talking about. Listen to a turbo 3L Duratec, they're wicked. Nobles have them and modified CSVTs/Cougars run them and are far from rice. Modular V6s from Ford can sound amazing. It won't sound like some hicks 70s farm truck, but to each their own.

I think it would sound good personally, you are going to get a lot of whistle from the twin chargers that are on the truck and that is going to take alot of the "ricyness" out of it. You are not going to get the deep rumble of a V8 but the whistle is worth it in my opinion.

This is my truck no muffer/cat straight all the way from the turbo to the tip. It's a little long and this is my first YouTube video so I didn't know how to edit it at the time. And yes I know there is a difference between the EcoBoost and PowerStroke but you get the idea of what it would sound like.

^ How is that in any way going to give anyone an idea of what an ecoboost engine will sound like?

You are completely right not even close, I was expecting more of a whistle like you here from some of the twin turbo diesels I have seen or even some of the twin turbo rice rockets. Maybe if they ditched the cat on one of those things.

This is what I found, not quite what I was expecting.

Stock. Its a V6 turbo'd, it makes good power with its OEM free flowing exhaust. The V6 does not need to make noise.

i think the best thing is the turbos spoolin...if they were louder you wouldnt need an exhaust, but that sounds pretty good for a v6.

X2

The best that you could hope for is that it will sound like a BMW with a straight 6.
