Magnapack Drone Fix

Hi guys

i'm running the 3"x14" magnapack setup on the truck SI/DO(5.4L 4x4 Screw)
Problem is the muffler sits slightly under the cab so i am having alot of drone...loved it at first because truck was a weekend toy for hanging or cruising but it's been my daily for a while now and i need a fix.....so my options were/are Borla xr1 16" replacement(doubt their will be a diffrence unless somebody says otherwise) or XR1 12" behind my current magnapack, then into maggie Y transition and keep the dual exits...so it'll be like having 26" of deep and distinct tone...Opinions welcome before i go ahead and click the checkout button

My tastes in exhaust are slight drone (need agression) and it needs to sound like a v8, Corsa or 14" magnapack ovals i doubt are an option a little too much on the quiet side+ i highly doubt i will ever replace the cats unless needed

Thanks in advance!

Yeah put in an 12" XR1 behind the magnapack and see what happens.

I would think the Borla's are quieter in terms of drone... I think the packs and bullets drone a lot by nature. Esp if you can get the Muffler under the bed, I bet it would be quieter.

A 16 inch xr1 will be quieter than the magnapack. Do a simple muffler swap, and be done with it.

Bullet drones just as much, if not, then more, than the Magnapack

i made the mistake of having slightly under the cab :o

John, i sorta wouldn't like to patch exhaust to move the muffler back, besides i've been itching for borla

Aja i see, was looking at ProXS but they don't offer the center/center outlet and i'm quite sure the turbo xl will be too quite, AND if a 16" xr1 will drone less then the round pack i may go that route....one thing i notice is people trying to race at lights when i hit the pedal....plus setting off car alarms in the campus garage is getting old

Darren i'm taking your word
