I asked a shop today if they could put a Magnapack or XR-1 in the place of my Corsa (so I could try it our for a while and see if I like it...and if not, just put the Corsa back in) and he said they would use a length of aluminized steel to make up for the difference in muffler length (Corsa is 22", Magnapack is obviously 14"). I asked if he could use a length of stainless so I could retain the entire stainless setup, and he said no. I also asked if he could just clamp it in, and he said no they would only weld it. Lame

I'd love to just "try" a Magnapack or XR-1 without having to buy a entire new exhaust setup. Seriosuly, how hard would it be for the shop to just put an 8" piece of stainless pipe in to make up the difference in muffler length.

That doesnt seem hard to do at all. Is your piping stock (2.75")? Or did you upgrade to 3"? If its 3", ill pussibly buy that Corsa from you.

The entire Corsa kit is 3" from the cat back. It is a really nice system and the jury is still out on whether or not I want to switch it out. lol I want to try a Magnapack or XR-1, but I like the fact my truck doesn't sound like anything else I have heard where I live. It turns heads when I drive around and people have moved out of the way on more than one occasion. lol

I keep telling myself I want more noise inside, but it sure does sound good the way it is. It really does sound like an exotic sports car with a mean growl on the outside. The sound clips on the Corsa Db website are pretty much spot-on to what you get. On the outside, it sounds pissed off. LOL

I am a tinkerer by nature and just can't leave well enough alone. haha

If I do, I will let you know.

Why do you want to switch out your bullet?

*EDIT* Nm, just saw your other thread.

One thing I noticed with this Corsa system is youtube videos just don't seem to do the sound justice. It really does have a unique sound to it.

I know with mine it misses the entire low end of the spectrum.

Yeah, it's wierd. I keep getting this background noise for some reason like the AC is on, even when it's not. In my "warm start" video it lost the low-end of the sound spectrum as well.

Purchase a piece of 3" SS pipe from Summit Racing along with two Butt Clamps and take care of it yourself. I'm thinking of doing the same thing with the factory resonator.

That is actually not a bad idea. Only issue being (if it is even an issue) is that I will be using the Corsa intermediate pipe as well. I guess I could just measure the difference and have Home Depot or somebody cut the stainless pipe for me.

Would I have to take the entire exhaust out, or is it possible to just do that section?

You do realize the Magnapack on your truck will sound like you have a stack facing the cab when accelerating compared to the Corsa kit muffler? ( way the hell louder inside ) . The 14" oval or XR1 12" may be suitable for you just from what I remember your sound preferences being.

The upload to YouTube does compress the file size some and that lowers the full out quality. Can you imagine how my old trucks exhaust was in person since you have probably heard how loud it sounded on YouTube?

08FX4 said his Magnapack on his new truck is quite a bit quieter than on his old 2008. It wouldn't be tough to be louder than the Corsa on the inside...my radio is louder than the Corsa at 2.5 bars. haha

Which 14" Maggie would you recommend?

In the end, I will probably end up keeping it and throwing the money towards a leveling kit. lol
