2005 f150 exhaust help! x pipe, 4 cats but with 2 magna high flows? no muffler??

I am ready to get a new exhaust for my 2005 f150 5.4 v8 2wd.. I dont have the most money in the world, but im wondering how would cutting my muffler out and putting high flow cats for my last cats (4 cats total), 2.5 piping, 4 inch tips, and an x pipe would sound?

Would I get alot of power increase and not lose mpg?

any help is appreciated

If your going to buy cats, use them in place of all 4 stock cats. I don't recommend no mufflers, but your cat decision will influence my recommendation for mufflers.

Will be noisy and hick like, all 4 cats and no mufflers on the other hand, a real decent sound. But Mufflers and hi-flow cats still sound better.

realize something bro. your not going to get noticeable "power" increase from adding exhaust. Depending on the pipe size, youll get a minimal gain in either low end or top end tq. Again, this is very minimal. Your going with sound when you get exhaust...thats the main thing. MPGs will remain the same, or go down depending on how you drive. Best sounding exhaust IMO is either dual magnapacks or dual XR1s, X piped, 2.5" piping. If thats not loud enough for you, chop off your rear cats (if u have 4) and just run the pre cats.

If you really want true duals then sure that will work fine.

I just had 2.5" piping with stock cats an x-pipe and two 5" magnapacks on my 06 5.4. It's really deep and smooth and not terribly loud. Not sure exactly what you want but i'm loving my setup. I have very crappy video on you tube. It doesn't do it justice though

hmm, would yall reccomend going with a dynomax bullet instead of magna packs for a louder sound? and there isnt any performance differences between them right?

Go to YouTube. Find what you want. Listen to it a bunch of times to make sure. Then buy it and put it on. It's as simple as that man.

x2, I ran 12" Bullets on my old truck, it was deep toned and sounded damn good, but it was slightly raspy/choppyish under throttle. Idle, cruise, WOT, all sounded nice though.

I have a stock 2005 F-150 Fx4 5.4L Triton. I just bought a 4” x 9” oval offset performance muffler from Magnaflow for it. A tech said it’s a little bit louder than the 5” x 8” oval offset performance muffler. My question is how much louder, because I want my truck to have a deep rumble. I don’t want anything obnoxiously loud but something that that’s louder than stock. Did I make the right choice?
