I want a new exhaust...

Its seems impossible for me to settle on an exhaust...

I've tried a few different things, but I'm un-satisfied... One setup I sold, the other I threw in the scrap bin at work...I don't know what I was thinking..

I'm ready to take the next step to something better..

I'm not sure if I want to run true duals or not...... I don't really want to hack into it for nothing better but sound..

Everyone seems to have them on this site, so they must be good...But.... After reading different threads, apparently there is little to benfit from them in the low end torque...

And do baffled mufflers really have any effect on exhaust velocity?

Like flowmaster, they say "exhaust technology", so they must put some thought into there units...?

Anybody?
Is the stock configuration on a 2010 4.6 2v sufficient for the motor?

I'm convinced it is....The 5.4 has the same setup, and it must create more exhaust gases than the measly 4.6....

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Does anyone have any dyno sheets of before and after of there true dual setup...???

Your not going to gain much of anything with any exhaust setup. sound is why we do it. If your not looking to spend cash for just sound, then leave it stock.

Look at the internals of a chambered muffler and tell me that it flows as much as a straight threw muffler. Yes it will decrease exhaust velocity, but it won't really make a huge difference in the drivers seat. They say there the exhaust technology because they have to advertise something. What else would they say, our muffler rust out and sound like a rattling can? haha

The only exhaust modification that will net you a reasonable amount of power would be long tube headers, which I think don't exist for your truck.

I know what you mean...

I might go pick up another stock system from the dealer and try something else...

I tried a 7x16" round magnaflow... I dunno...It was alright.... Just not very deep..

All I want is deep...No rasp...Pop...

I got a 3.73 with 30.5" tires... When I'm doin 70mph I'm revving 2000rpm.... Drone is susceptible....And not really wanted..

Borla seems to have the nicest sound really.... But they are friggin exspensive..

Ya I know...

I'm beating a dead horse.

What is a good borla muffler?

I'd like to fit one into a stock system... I can get them for $50 from a dealer I pass.... they have 20 sittin out back from modding other trucks...

What about a 4" tip this time... Instead of 3.5?

I think you would be happy with a large bodied magnaflow. I loved the sound of the 22" maggie I had on my truck. I have a vid of it in the exhaust contest page- but I also have a lighting engine wth Long tube headers, and high flow cats so it would be much quieter on your truck then mine..

Do you like my Borla mufflers? I really like the S type, but with no cats, I went with these to keep the noise level a little lower.

Long bodied Magnaflow in the stock pipe will do it.

All you buggers make this so hard...

I u-tubed till my eyes bled last night...

All the options are killing me..

I've come to this conclusion on what "could" appear on my truck...

It will definatly be a SI/SO setup...

-Magnapack...2-1/2" in/out x 22".......

Dynomax Bullet..P/N- 24236

I`m gunna go pick up a stock system from the dealer, and weld this all up myself down at my union hall.

I just need to decide, I think its going to be the magnapack....

The bullet is a bit severe`...

I think that the ovals will be a bit to quiet..

Maybe I cshould just go and get it bent..... Get a nice tuck job, and have the tip pointed down out behind the rear passenger tire...

I like this, but mine would be a single exit...

Well i did the exhaust...

22" x 2-1/2" in and out magnapack..

Then a tucked tail pipe dumped at the bumper...

I cant get a vid up yet.!!!!!

Its so windy, its screwing up the sound.

I will post one up ASAP.

I wanna get in on that contest....lol...For ****s and giggles is all, there are some nice sounding pipes on there, but this is practical for me.

Yes I certainly do.

The Thrush was to much like someone banging on tin... It sounded like any old Flowmaster... It also droned like crazy..

Flowmasters have there applications.... And thats not on a 4.6 IMO..

The other magnaflow setup was imperfect if you will...

It sounded great at certain RPM's, and at others it sounded like crap...

When you got to about 70mph, it emitted this terrible pulse..... Its hard to describe, put the pulses were to far apart... It sounded like it had a hole in or something... And it was a bit of a droner.... Not the kind tyou want to listen too. It was like bubbles wrap popping...I dunno...

Now this setup is really good. Its loud, but not ridiculous. There is no vibration or insane drone unless your on it...

The pulses are so close together...Its sounds great... I can't wait to get a vid up.

I took it to Noyz Boyz in Toronto. They charge a lot, but there pipe guys are good... I sat there with him while he did it. We had a good chat about exhausts, very knowledgable guy.

They have tons of stuff on hand. They had everything to do a true dual setup right in my face.... X pipe....the DI/DO Magnaflow...

They are way to exspensive.... But the thing is, they do a good job.... They have a great photo album of all the jobs they've done.

And the service manager even took a vid of his tech handy work before I left...
