They aren't as loud as your expecting because 1, you need tailpipes with nice sized tips to project the sound, and 2, you have the 4 catalytic converter system.

Listen to my 2004 and compare its volume to yours. I am running the pre-cats and tailpipes with 4"x18" tips.

yea going to replace cats and i know about the tips just cant decide where i want them.

straight out the back overdone, 45'd like yours looks good on 4wd not 2wd, lightning style been there done that, and looked at hidden like kr's raptor just not a whole lot of room for that.

On 2wd, 3.5" tips look good, and 18" length mandatory, looks great, straight out or 45'd. Depending on your tires and wheels if they are aggressive i'd go 45'd.

Exit in front of the rear tire with a pair of 18x3.5" tips for best sound and more noise.

A brand new muffler introduced in Sept 2010 in a junk yard? Sure it wasn't a regular 10 series?

im actually trying to decide on an exhaust revamp, so i feel ya on the location thing. idk how i want to run mine. if i wanna do a short dump at the rear tires or keep em hidden under the bed w/ turn downs, or a sleeper exhaust that looks stock but is loud.

strongly debated doing long tube headers into DI/DO magnaflow (idk series) with a turn out with tips right infront of the rear pass tire. but idk all the information im needing to make this decision as far as back pressure needed and all that.

I plan to do bullets the next time i change my exhaust up. My buddy had a duals with no cats on his 5.7 chev 1500 and the sound of that would make me wet in the pants.....

so where are the power benefits most if u do a double bullet style vs say a Di/Do magnaflow. im really tryin to get low end power for normal driving looking at long tube headers too.
