i have a 97 f150 with (i think) bad catalytic converters in the past i have punched out my catalytic converters but i do not know if i can do it with the 4.6L i all so was thinking i should get hi flow cats now and down the road get a flowmaster. i do not need a new exhaust system now but the reason i said it is bad is i got on the gas pretty good tonight on the interstate then i came to a stop and it smelled real bad.

 

What exactly was the smell you were getting? If you were riding the truck pretty hard there is a possibility that something else could screwed up and started to cause a smell. Bad cats usually give off a sulphur smell.

Well if your farts smell like rotten eggs then yes. hahaha
Sounds like it's time for hi-flows!!!
And by the way don't go with flowmasters, Shoot for some dynomax bullets or a set of glasspacks.

 

Great idea but we have strong inspection laws i can not have glass packs (sad) but i could run other mufflers

 

Check out some of the magnaflow round body mufflers. Where do you live that they won't allow a glasspack? It's still a muffler so why are they so strict?
