Question Putting OEM intake back on.

Ive had a KN CAi for a while now a year or so., but Ive been having issues with the truck lately so its going to the dealer. Its a 2005 5.4. While putting the throttle body and intake baack on, I noticed that there was no gasket between the throttle body and the top of the engine....Is this correct? Also after I got everything hooked up I was left with these 2 hard plastic "hoses?" that have thes green clips in both ends, but for the life of me I can not remember where they go, and I looked everywhere looking for a spot for them to no avail. Does anybody know what these are? Where they go? I cant remember even taking them off when I installed the intake, so Im not sure if they were in the wrong box by mistake. Any help is appreciated.

BTW...My problem is code p0420 and poor gas mileage and misfiring, my truck has 80,000 miles, Im taking it in for new plugs thursday and Im going to have him check the injectors per the extended warranty....Any tips or info on that is appreciated is well.

Figured out the tube, what about the lack of gasket on the throttle body?

Should be a gasket on it that is reusable if there isnt one you need to get one.

your p0420 is probably related to you not hooking up the evap lines when you installed the CAI intake the first time. since you said you dont think you took them off when you pulled the CAI back off the truck.

maybe not, i looked it up, i was thinking evap system was 420. Anyways good luck

yeah I had a gryphon with an 87 perf tune from bill...I decided to just sell it all because I started having issues with my truck after I installed all of it.

That's what you get with K&N. Stick to a proper enclosed box intake.

Changing inlet tube is OK, aka "Gott's Mod" ..... but agree, keep the box.
