Deciding on exhaust

I have a 2009 F150 XLT 5.4 with a 5 1/2 foot bed and I convinced my parents to buy me an exhaust. My parents don't trust small shops, so I have to get my exhaust from my local 4 Wheel Parts. I cant decide between all of the exhausts, all I know is that I want a dual exhaust. I can't have a really really expensive exhaust but don't want it to be cheap because I'm not paying for it. I want a really good sounding exhaust not just loud but a good sound. So what are my options I have heard Corsa, Borla and Dynomax are good, but i still have no idea. Here's the link to their website. http://www.4wheelparts.com/Performan...s=49&t_pt=3383

Thanks.

Those kits are a waste of money. You can get a lot more for your money if you order the mufflers, tips, and X pipe (if needed) on line, and then have a shop weld it all up for you. I really don't think that your going to get what your looking for out of those kits, in my opinion.

A dynomax bullet will be loud and deep, but straight pipe is cheaper.

yea i dont think he's looking at doing straight pipe if he doesnt want to go cheap.

you can look other places like summit and jegs too for whole setups, but piecing it together like the previous post could be a better way to go.

just get true duals and run a DIDO muffler and then your xpipe. xpipes on ebay are like $30, the muffler is like $75 at most and then your tips if you want tips.

Alright, so a no go on 4 wheel parts. So what all do I need then? Again, I'm not looking to go super cheap. Also, does anyone know any good shops in Houston or anyone that lives in Houston? Thanks for the help guys.

just google something like "ehxuast shops or muffler shops in houston texas area", something like that and you should find places.

A lot of people here while suggest the magnaflows or dynomax bullets. i still say that the flowmasters aren't bad, just keep it to the 40, 44, and 10 series because the restrictiveness gets worse with the rest of them.

you wont go wrong with true duals. im assuming you have stock cats still so just get a xpipe 2.5" inlet/outlet, two mufflers of your choice and then two tips of your choice. there are videos of 11" magnaflows, 14" magnaflows, magnapacks, and bullets for reference. and i know there are for sure becuase ive listened to them all trying to figure out what exhaust set up i want. if you want loud good sound and ARENT worried about drone go with bullets or magnapacks. If you worried about drone like i am go with a lil bigger muffler.

Well then, two stainless bullets, and all mandrell bent stainless steel piping with polished stainless tips should fill the bill.

I don't understand ... why use an X pipe after a DI/DO muffler?

I'ld say ...get a quality cat back kit, they are well engineered, have good solid hangers, the pipes arerouted to clear well, and the tips exit in the right places .... and they sound great.

Thought the x pipe was before the muffler......

Loud and proud but with a deep growl? Dual Magnaflow 14x4" (magnapacks), X pipe (in the stock Y pipe position), and 94106 Magnaflow cats! You will cream your self when you start it for the first time.

Ok so I need 2 mufflers, and x pipe, and tips? Mufflers are the magnapacks or bullets? Does the type of x pipe and tips matter? and will I need to buy pipes? Sorry for all the questions. I want to have my exit straight out the back. Thanks for the help so far.
