My advice for an exhaust to help with the MPG is to put one on that is as quiet as possible. Leave it bone stock if it's possible.

The main reason being with a nice rumbling exhaust you can't help but put down the windows and roll into the throttle every chance you get. I'd bet my average went down 2 MPG just because of that. You'll never get tired of doing it either.

With a lift and bigger tires, proper gearing would go a long ways in giving you back the lost gas mileage.

Pretend your jewels are strapped to the pedal and do routine and prevenative maintenance.......that will help your mpgs more than anything......you might want to look into regearing or going back to stock tires also....

You won't get anything from an exhaust. There's not much you can actually do to improve MPG's in a truck, except maybe a programmer.

regear larger, only thing you can do to gain 'decent' economy back. Lifting it will never help due to wind drag.

I've done it all including new true dual exhaust, CAI and programmer. If you can be disciplined and keep your foot out of the floor you can gain MPG but then again you could probably do that without all the add ons. I had to finally admit that the added expense was for performance and fun, afterall, I drive a 5.4L V8. If you're looking for better MPG get lighter shoes :0).

on the contrary it will worsen since you cant tame your foot when your ears want sound....of course you can get away with something by regearing and tunes like these fellas say
