Factory sport tuned or after market??

Hello all,

i have a 07' hd editon with a saleen blower, my truck has the oem exhaust that exits behind the rear wheel and it sounds ok. My plans are to have the exhaust exit infront of the rear wheel instead of behind it. My question really is two fold: Is it worth installing a better exhaust system ( borla or roush offroad ), and how much will this change the performance, sound? Because i could just move the oem exhaust if there won't be too much benefit. Of course i want the truck to sound good, but how much difference will there be with one of the above mentioned systems? Good performance with a deep sound is what i am looking for ( not loud to be loud, if that makes any sense ).

If you want it sound good, change the muffler! Now, how much louder do you want it..? Changing the muffler on the other hand won't really make a big difference in your performance. With the right set up, you should feel a small gain in performance, especially with the blower.

Thanks for the reply frog. If it's the right sound a change would be welcomed, i just don't know if a complete new system is nessesary, it sounds pretty good as is. How much could a differnce would a change in muffler make? How much money? And how about moving it infront of the rear wheel?

Borla XR1 3" muffler exit before the rear tire. For example.

If roush had his exhaust done by that time of the competition hands down he would have won. Literally he has THE BEST setup you can do on these trucks. Supercharger, dual Xr1s, HFCs, Dynatech Longtube headers, all exit Lightning style. Droollll
