Don't know, it might be too big, if there's a limit.

I love my flowmaster 40...I think it sounds great. It does have some drone, but thats why I bought it. I cant wait to see what it sounds like when I put my new high-flows on.

I took the plunge today and went with an 18" maggie, 4" round in front of the y-pipe. I have had straight pipes on this truck since 1999. Over 100,000 miles. I don't know if it's my age (45) or what but on a recent trip I grew really tired of the drone in the cab. I had a 4-wheeler in the truck bed and a 10' trailer with another atv on it. A buddy was with me and our gear for a weekend of riding. Anyway, I just really noticed the noise on that trip for some reason. The maggie seems to have toned it down quite a bit. I like the sound, got a smokin deal on the muffler and I'm hoping end of the month when I hook to a trailer that the drone will be better while on the highway. Any of ya'll notice much of a drone with the 18" maggie under load? Thanks.

decided that i didn't want to wait anymore to buy mufflers, so i went and bought what i originally was going to get. now i know most of you won't approve, but it's my truck and i like the flowmaster sound and it's not like i'm putting stock mufflers back on. not tryin to sound mean on that note either.

Thrush welded 40 copies. 2.5" CI/OO for $32.95ea

I personally like MAC, although no one here seems to like them at all or talk about them. I've had flow's and mags on my old mustang, but when MAC came out with thier new muffler at the time, I really liked it. They also have a prochamber that if I could make work on my 150, would be so much better than any h or x pipe. Going with a stainless dual MAC setup with OBX's and stainless x. Still debating on whether or not to go with resonators or cats. Price is a pushing point, but I think in the end, gonna go with cats.

Well I didn't read the whole thread but my experience is that I loved by super 44's when I installed them which was before the blower.

After I put on the blower, it seems that there is too much air going thru the mufflers at wide open throttle now and the 44's crackle some.

I've thought about switching to something else since the blower went on.

This thread is a wild read.

If you want Flowslows fine by me, its your truck.

I'm what most would call an "Old Fart" I was a teenager in the 70's. My first car was a 69 Road Runner with a 440 HP and 4 speed. Bought in 73.

Anyway the answer to the question "Where did the backpressure myth start" is right around 74 when the factories started putting Cats on everything. Lots of people were cutting them off for better performance, and to be able to use leaded fuel. With the leaned out fuel trims from the factories, caused some engines to go WAY LEAN, burning pistons. Lots of shadetree's blamed this on not enough BACKPRESSURE. The myth carries on......

Wow, that's a great car period and to be your first car. Just wow. My dad is 61 and I'm 34 and to this day he still talks about his 69 Road Runner more lovingly than me or my sisters, lol.

Loved the RRs and GTXs and R/Ts and Super Bees and ..... but my little 69 Dart Swinger 340 w/ 4spd and 3.91 gears would have eaten that big RR alive!

I beg to differ.

The Bullet is wrapped and ran with perforated tubing. It is an "advanced glasspack' you could say. See my sig.

i have a mangnaflow muffler, ypipe, and tips on my v8 and when i turn it on it sounds like someone woke up a dragon. its very deep and smooth. no popping or "farting" noises what-so-ever....unlike flowmasters. to be honest, id rather have whoopicusions as exhaust than flowmaster.
videos do no justice and are NOT a sufficient way to judge the sound of a setup and definitly not a good way to say that one brand is better than another.
