And just curious why would you take the time to cut the Y out and not go true duals?
yep, aluminized piping bending and welding $300..thats just two so far i will go to three other shops i know of and accrue all the info to decide what to do...as far as keeping the single / dual out configuration is #1, i dont have a tune or and honestly dont see it in my future, that leads to #2 the loss members seem to experience with true duals is greater thhen upgrading to 3" single pipe size? or atleast from my understanding. True duals sound extremely awesome and since the tune nor a turbo nor a supercharger are planned i just want it to sound like a truck, look up to what it is. the reason for cutting the stock y pipe out is because the drivers side bank interferes about a 1/4 inch into the passenger bank...

p.s. i am not planning on paying for mandrel smooth is good enough for me
i would assume mandrel keeps a consistent distance all throughout the bend, while smooth can deviate slightly

minor update.....shops around my hood dont have stainless but will install for 300....if i buy the exact amount of pipe i have to shel out min. 200 based on internet retailers....so 300(labor)+200(pipe rough) is 500 plus like 230 on the magnaflow stuff.....so i might as well go with shop number 2 and stick to pay 450 for stainless...may take a while i have a busy schedule but will upload videos and photos once its done, thanks for the advice guys
