Not to sound dumb but do I HAVE to get an SCT tuner if I were to upgrade to the JLT or would my Gryphon work?

Your Gryphon will work, but you'd need your tunes updated to account for the intake.

exactly. talk to bill at php and he can write some crazy custom tunes for your gryphon that you'll love!

not yet! working on a roush hood to make a fully functional ram air system that will blow the doors off other trucks. literally saving money to make that happen as that was my plan from the start. it will also keep my temps down under hood by letting it breathe. might need a new tune for even more air but more power, more welcome...!

Damn, ok...I talked to Bill a couple of months ago about getting an intake along with the Gryphon upgrade and he said that an intake would be pointless to get because the Gryphon will overwrite any data collected by the intake so it would basically just sit there and look pretty...pretty much, the tune is only needed to ensure the truck stops running lean for someone who already had the intake on prior to getting a Gryphon...he said just do the Gotts mod because it wouldn't require a tune so I thought maybe the ram air intake wouldn't need a tune either.
