2010 exhaust sound

I recently traded my 07 supercrew for a new 2010 supercrew. The first thing i noticed with the new truck was the distinctly louder more aggressive exhaust. I definately like it, but I've heard other 2010s and they don't seem as aggressive. Are the 2010s typically louder than the previous models, or do I have an exhaust problem?

I put a magnaflow on a 2010 the other day, it was quiet factory. No noticeable difference than previous models. Maybe you got a muffler made on Monday morning or Friday afternoon.

Love the way the '10's sound. If I had one I wouldn't do anything to the exhaust, meaning if I actually had one.

Your right the 2010's are louder then the 04-08's. They have new design manifolds that are similar to aftermarket shorties designs, the mufflers are smaller/redesigned, new cat-design and the piping went from 2.5 to 2.75.

I know this after inquiring on my own as my 05 5.4 was 10 times quieter stock then my 2010 4.63v.

Your right i love the sound too!! Saved me lots of $$ from buying aftermarket exhaust kit too, lol!

Yes, along with the new cat design being a less resonated, and shorter overall length cat. The only reason a 2010 would be quieter than another 2010 would be 49 state to cali emissions pkg.

What size did you put? si/so?

My 2010 stock was too quiet. But I am doing the drone dance trying to get the right set up with a Maggy on a stock system.

My 2010 was a 2 cat into a si/so 31'' muffler, and not one of the emission restricted set ups, so I believe it has to do with the type stock muffler you get with the truck.

I put a si/do 5x8x14, but I ran it Harley style. If you're that worried about drone, find you a 22" and run it.

Having a 22" put on Monday.

Not worried about drone, annoyed by it. Short burst of it around town not an issue, but long hauls on the interstate with cruising rpm in 1800-2000 range is not going to cut it.
