Remove my cats, will it throw a code?

I live in Iowa and it is not required by law to have cats. I have an 01 F-150 supercrew and i have spent a lot of money on my custom exhaust job. I still have the cats on it and i want to remove them. If i take both off will it throw a code with the o2 sensor in front of cats and behind them??? Please help pretty soon I will be going to get my collector sealed up and if it will not throw a code i am going to have them take the cats off.

You can do the Gott's mod, buy eliminators for the rear o2's, or the best way... TUNE IT.

I live right next door to Iowa and believe me, it is definitely against the law to not have cats. It is federal law, not state. Iowa does not require vehicle inspections, which means you'll probably never get caught without them, but just know that it is illegal before you do it.

That being said, MIL eliminators and cut them damn things off.

Gotts mod. Ive had it for a like 2k miles now and no codes. I scanned it with my OBD2 reader and the monitor for the cats has already passed meaning the computer thinks the cat (that doesnt exist) is good.

Cats are required in ALL 50 of the US states. No emissions check doesn't mean you can run without cats.

Yes it will throw a code. Tune it and put hi-flows on. Then you will be running legal, and loud.

No rear cats and no CEL for about the past year...

Which means my stock front cats (with 95,000+) are still within Fords parameters for emissions/function.

And yes, it will be VERY loud.

What part of the state you from? I'm around a lot of the southeastern part, but mostly Iowa City for the time being.
