I wanna put straight pipes through my cats but idk if the o2 sensors will work still. Bc i've heard that taking off or not having the cats makes the truck run like crap.. true or false?
Ive heard of people jus drilling a hole and welding a nut to screw the sensors into and put them back to where they was after you put the pipe where the cat was?
Would that work? or would it even matter to just take them off? or just best to leave them alone?

 

you can take them off it wont run like crap unless you mess up the air/fuel ratio (A/F sensor in front of the cats) just mount the O2 sensor behind the cat or straight pipe. if your throwing codes look into doing the gotts o2 mod

 

This would essentially be like removing all of your cats without a tune to ignore the O2's. It will run like crap, throw codes, and not pass inspections.

Replace them with hi-flow cats or get a programmer that will shut off the O2's.

 

Would the high flow cats make a sound diffrence?
And what if i leave the front sensor alone then put straights and replace the 2nd one about the same distance it was from the 1st one to start with?
Because if all its gunna do is make a check light on the dash come on and not mess nothing else up. Then that wont bother me, considering the check egine light and ABS light are both on already...

 

The bottom line is if you remove all your cats, place you O2's back where they were, and do not have a programmer that deals with the problem, the computer will read that the exhaust is too rich and would constantly try and lean it out. In time, this will damage your engine.

Hi-flow cats sound the exact same as no cats, except you can still pass emissions with them, there are no CEL's, and performance is actually improved with them. A custom tune is not required either.

4.6 is right on. And the hi-flows cut back on the rasp. Unless you get tuned, and are willing to face any federal fines when caught with zero cats, dont do it.
