Dumped Tip

I currently have a 14" Magnaflow muffler with a turn down. I had the 2 front cats removed, and will be replacing the rears with high flows. I do not want to have tips showing out the back or out the side. Would I have a better sound if I bought a cheap tip and dumped it to where you could not see it rather than just a turn down? Would there even be a difference?

Does anyone have a sound clip of this? I searched and found one pic of this kind of setup (this person went over the rear axle then came down with a large tip), but no sound clip.

I had the banks exhaust exit like a factory exhaust but with that big pipe and 5" tip I would drag it because my truck is to low so I had them cut the pipe back where it comes over the axle and dumps so I just reused the tip but yeah you can get you a nice chrome dump tip that can bolt on to the exit side of your muffler

I am getting high flows put on tomorrow, and taking the dump up over the axle and then dumping to a 5" tip..all hidden of course. The exhaust guy is wanting me to change to a 3" muffler, and run 3" from the Y all the way back. He's probably right, but my Magnaflow muffler (2.5") that is already on there is brand new. Not to mention i want to keep the cost down. I wonder how much difference in sound that would be anyway?

I am also having my broken manifold bolts fixed as well which is adding to the bill..

Just a pinch deeper and clearer. If you are familiar with Borla exhaust sounds, it will sound a little more like Borla, and that is very good .
