My new exhaust setup.

Well, due to a poor weld job after 2yrs of service from my Magnaflows, one of the mufflers fell out so I decided to change things a bit. Had stock rear cats back in, single 2.25" exhaust with a glasspack dumped.

Na, I totally changed to Dynomax Bullets

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo4eXYrCwRQ

Got the muffler swap done May 14th. I have always craved the low end rumble and idle in a exhaust, and these Magnaflows did not provide that when warm. Had them for 25k miles though, since I originally did the exhaust July 3rd '08. Thank you for your service Magnaflow 11"s! Sounded great and did turn heads. I was planning on getting the 4" round Magnaflow bodies ( Magnapacks ) originally in 2008, I wish I did, but no one ever trying the 11" oval bodies I was temped to give them a try. I got a great deal on the Bullets last February ( $50, thank you again Shifty! ) for two part #24125 Dynomax bullets and compared to the Magnapacks they're pretty much what Silverado is to Sierra, same thing just different cosmetics and other slight differences. The tone of the Bullet is more open and higher toned at WOT than the Magnapacks which stays about the same. I almost dont like this about the Bullets, but its not a real big deal as I rarely see WOT.

I am much happier with the rumble. Sounds damn near the same in tone, just with higher decibels in low rpm, and even louder when into the throttle. I would estimate it is 20% louder outside under normal habits 25% louder on 2000rpm+, and a scratchier sounding WOT punch. The warm idle is much more audible nearly like a chambered muffler. Its just a bit more wrappish on WOT/revs, pop rumbles on de-rev, I can hear the backpressure effect going down a hill in 4th gear O/D, which I really like. This setup drones significantly more inside,, about 25% more. I can live with it for now. It somewhat felt like I got a tiny pinch of low end torque back too. After looking inside the Magnaflows, some of the perforated tubing had mis-shaped and flared out a little in the bend.. so I can see how I may have improved flow path with the Bullets. Just 25,000 miles of heat did that? For this reason I believe i'll stick with Center/Center mufflers as much as possible then. Kind of odd though, kind of makes me think about what Jerame means when he bashes Magnaflow's performance . Just thought I would share, i'll stop rambling now. Enjoy.

Some bonus footage at the end.

And another bonus, a rev off with a Titan.

Thank you . Na, its alright sounding, but its not deep at all. Nice truck though, 6" lift on 35s & 20s, its respectable, but the exhaust note isn't that impressive. Hes a cool guy though.

I have a buyer so far, I made a deal with a friend months ago after I told him I got the Bullets, but he hasn't told me when he plans to buy. If he doesn't, i'll send you a message.

Well you can still go with Magnaflow, the Magnapacks! Same thing just stainless steel, and no higher pitched WOT.

I like it. Still nice and deep with an awesome growl. The only thing that I don't like is the crackling at WOT.

Thanks man. Yeah I wasn't crazy for it neither but its mostly due to my shop made X pipe. I need a REAL X pipe. But I tell myself if i'm going to get a good one, I might as well switch to 2.25" mandrel exhaust at that point. And in t-409 too. It will cost more this time around since I dont go to my one bud for exhaust work anymore, but his welds suck and makes unnecessary bends to damn much.

Sounds good. Now that my magnapack is pretty much broken in I've got some of that same crackle at WOT, moderate throttle, and on a cold start. That's the only negative to a small round case muffler but they sure sound good in the rest of the RPM range!

Nice man, yeah these Bullets only had less than 300 miles on them in this video. I'm gonna make another video after a break in time like I usually do. Probably around 2,000 miles for these small suckers compared to 6,000 it took for the ovals.
